Summary:

NFP’s Private Equity Group is looking for a Risk and Due Diligence Leader to elevate and expand our capabilities. This individual will have the opportunity to shape a growing practice, strengthen the quality and consistency of our deliverables, and influence how we serve some of the most sophisticated investors in the market. You’ll have the ability to refine our processes, enhance our reporting, mentor a talented team, and help define what best‑in‑class due diligence looks like for private equity clients. Job Responsibilities:

  • Lead NFP’s Private Equity Group’s Risk and Insurance Due Diligence practice, driving improvements in workflow, process efficiency, and deliverable quality.
  • Manage due diligence engagements of varying complexity across diverse industries.
  • Collaborate internally with brokers, coverage specialists, producers, client service, and M&A teams to analyze findings and craft risk solutions.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to private equity firms, target companies, and their representatives through daily external communication.
  • Produce accurate, comprehensive, and professional due diligence reports for clients.
  • Evaluate insurance programs, claims history, collateral arrangements, insurance-related financials, and insurance provisions within purchase agreements.
  • Identify and address transaction-related issues in coordination with other client advisors.
  • Partner with producers to strengthen existing relationships and convert diligence projects into ongoing client engagements.
  • Articulate and capture the value NFP delivers, even in complex or high-pressure situations.
  • Prepare analyses, spreadsheets, proposals, and presentation materials for clients and prospects.
  • Travel as needed to support client relationships and project execution.

Required Skills & Experience:

  • Strong technical proficiency in Property & Casualty insurance, with broad knowledge across specialty lines including cyber, E&O, financial lines, environmental, group captives, and related coverages.
  • Solid understanding of financial statements, accounting principles, and insurance-related financial analysis.
  • Proven project management ability to coordinate cross-functional teams and manage deliverables within defined timeframes.
  • Strategic thinker with strong analytical skills and attention to detail, capable of drawing insightful conclusions from complex information.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to manage, mentor, and develop team capabilities.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively across all organizational levels and with clients.
  • Ability to perform effectively under pressure and meet demanding deadlines.
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in the insurance industry, preferably within private equity and/or M&A-related responsibilites. 

Preferred Experience:

  • CPCU a plus
  • MBA, CPA or JD a plus

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field

The base salary range for this position is $150,000 to $250,000. The base salary offered will be determined by factors including, but not limited to, experience, credentials, education, certifications, skill level required for the position, the scope of the position, and geographic location. Actual base salary offered will be determined on a case-by-case basis. In addition to the base salary, this position may be eligible for performance-based incentives.
