Sales Engineer, Consumer Panel

We’re seeking a Sales Engineer with deep experience in consumer panel data and a strong understanding of how CPG brands leverage these insights to drive strategic decisions across marketing, innovation, and shopper engagement. This role is pivotal in supporting our field sales team by translating client business needs into actionable data solutions—ensuring every opportunity is scoped, priced, and supported for long-term success.

As a trusted partner to both our internal sales team and external clients, you will help guide CPG stakeholders through the full sales lifecycle—from identifying fit to solution design, technical validation, and post-sale transition. This role offers a unique opportunity to apply your expertise in consumer behavior and data storytelling within a fast-growing, insights-driven organization.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

Pre-Sales Partnership

  • Collaborate with account executives and prospects to uncover client objectives and define how SPINS' consumer panel and syndicated data solutions can solve them.
  • Lead discovery and consultative selling efforts with client teams across brand, insights, marketing, and analytics functions.
  • Clearly articulate how SPINS’ consumer data provides differentiated value and can inform product development, brand health tracking, category strategies, competitive analysis, and consumer targeting.

Technical Enablement

  • Deliver engaging demos and data walkthroughs to illustrate platform capabilities, panel methodology, and analytic output
  • Address technical and analytical questions during the sales cycle, ensuring clarity around methodology and expected outcomes.

Solution Design & Scoping

  • Design solutions grounded in client use cases, ensuring technical and strategic fit
  • Define technical feasibility, data coverage, and deliverable approach in collaboration with product owners
  • Build tailored proposals and support pricing strategy in collaboration with sales and operations teams.

Sales Process Execution

  • Serve as a core contributor across the full sales cycle—from early engagement through final contracting and hand-off.
  • Partner with onboarding and customer success teams to ensure post-sale continuity and clear delivery expectation.

Internal Collaboration & Feedback

  • Act as a voice of the customer internally—bringing field feedback to product and analytics teams to enhance our solutions.
  • Maintain a strong pulse on evolving CPG industry trends, competitive consumer panel data offerings, and innovations in consumer insights

Education and Experience

  • 3–6 years of experience in a sales engineering, insights, consulting, analytics strategy, or technical pre-sales role supporting CPG clients.
  • Must have direct experience working with consumer panel data (e.g., NIQ/Circana/Kantar/Gfk) and applying those insights in a CPG brand, agency, or data provider context.
  • Strong knowledge of how CPGs use consumer panel data to drive decisions in brand management, marketing strategy, innovation, and retail activation.
  • Exceptional communication and storytelling skills with the ability to simplify technical concepts for non-technical audiences.
  • Experience supporting consultative sales processes—scoping solutions, pricing, and working across complex stakeholder groups.
  • Familiarity with CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce), Excel, PowerPoint, and BI tools like Looker or Tableau.
  • Highly organized, adaptable, and energized by working in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment.

Hiring Range: $95/yr-$120K/yr + eligible for commission potential
