Position Summary
The Sales Operations Manager’s primary responsibility will be to generate, curate, and maintain sales analytics necessary for the efficient and productive deployment of sales resources. The Sales Operations Manager must be technically proficient with respect to business software, including CRM tools highly analytical, attentive to detail, and possess strong business acumen. Candidates should have a background in Diagnostics or Life Sciences with experience supporting high-functioning field-based sales teams. Belay Diagnostics is a startup organization in a very dynamic and quickly evolving area of healthcare so the successful individual must be highly adaptable and able to prioritize business objectives as needed with ease. To be effective in this role, candidates will need to play a major role in helping guide sales strategy, planning, and forecasting with the goal of bolstering revenue-generating activity. The Sales Operations Manager will work collaboratively with internal partners such as Marketing, Product, and Sales Leadership to help inform corporate objectives and strategic goals. The VP of Sales and Marketing will rely heavily on the data and sales analytics generated by this team member so close collaboration between the two will be of the utmost importance. The position also requires close daily interaction with Sales in order to ensure efforts in the field are being expended as productively as possible, and with the greatest ROI. The Sales Operations Manager will be a key member of the Sales organization and will need to liaise cross-functionally with ease and an appropriate sense of urgency. The candidate must be adaptable, flexible, results-oriented, comfortable with a dynamic work environment, collaborative, team-oriented and accustomed to shifting swiftly. The Sales Operations Manager will conduct business in an ethical and compliant manner and will adhere to relevant company Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) as appropriate.
Essential Duties/Responsibilities/Requirements
- Work collaboratively with internal partners to ensure all facets of the commercial organization have access to timely, accurate, and uniform sales analytics
- Function as the primary steward of sales data, business applications and processes surrounding successful customer on-boarding
- Oversee the proper documentation of customer interactions in our CRM tool with the goal of ensuring data integrity, accuracy, and completeness
- Bring and apply knowledge of best practices and CRM hygiene to the organization
- Oversee deployment of sales applications (including CRM) and facilitate training
- Be responsive and nimble when dealing with the demands of both internal and external customers/partners
- Serve as a crucial internal resource for the Sales team by continuously optimizing business processes and applications that lead to additional time/bandwidth for revenue-generating activities
- Oversee the design and implementation of the Sales Incentive Plan for the sales team
- Leverage business acumen to glean insights from our sales cycle that can be used to maximize efficiency and shorten ramp-up time
- Ensure the account setup process meets the needs of cross-functional partners and adheres to proper internal protocols
- Assist members of the Sales team troubleshoot problems associated with our CRM tool or other business applications
- Candidates will need to demonstrate strong technical proficiency with standard business applications and CRM tools
- Must be adaptable, willing to pivot based on business needs, and highly driven to support the Sales team meet revenue objectives
- Organize, coordinate, and oversee sales events/functions such as regional or national meetings; and support Sales/Marketing with trade shows and conferences
Education, Knowledge & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree with 3+ years’ experience supporting field-based sales personnel
- Relevant experience in Diagnostics, Life Sciences, or Genomic Testing
- Highly motivated, analytical, and naturally inclined to problem solve
- Highly proficient with Excel, CRM tools, and other standard business applications
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Incentive compensation plan design and administration
- Able to effectively function cross-functionally to ensure Leadership is operating with the most accurate and actionable data
- Demonstrated excellent time management and organizational skills
- Proven track record of overseeing initiatives designed to optimize sales or business processes
