About the role

The Outside Sales Representative Mid-West plays a critical role in driving revenue growth by managing the entire sales process from lead generation to closing. As an member of the Sales organization, you will be responsible for engaging with prospects and customers to understand their needs, delivering tailored solutions that align with our product offerings, and collecting market insights and feedback. This role is ideal for someone who is intellectually curious, ambitious, and thrives in externally facing environments. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to ensure a seamless customer experience and contribute to the overall success of the commercial organization.

You will be based in the Mid West-near a major airport ( ie St. Louis, Chicago, Minneapolis, Michigan) , though we are open to candidates located geographically in the Mid West(remote).

Work position goals

  • Drive new business by identifying and qualifying leads.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with customers to foster loyalty and repeat business.
  • Promote the full portfolio of products and services to maximize customer value.
  • Ensure a smooth onboarding experience for new customers.
  • Maintain high levels of customer satisfaction through proactive engagement and support.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to align sales strategies with customer needs and market trends.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Manage the full sales cycle including prospecting, presenting, negotiating, and closing deals.
  • Conduct product presentations and demos tailored to customer needs.
  • Participate in trade shows, webinars, and workshops to promote products and generate leads.
  • Provide input to marketing campaigns and outreach strategies.
  • Maintain accurate records of sales activities and customer interactions in the CRM system.
  • Gather customer feedback and share insights with product and marketing teams.
  • Stay informed about industry trends, competitor offerings, and market dynamics.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required. Bachelor’s of Science in Biology, Biomedical Engineering, or a related field preferred; relevant experience may substitute for education.
  • 2-5 years of sales experience.
  • Prior customer-facing experience within the life sciences preferred.
  • Experience in sales, customer service, or business development is a plus.
  • Familiarity with CRM systems and sales tools would be advantageous.
  • Basic understanding of sales principles and techniques.
  • Basic understanding of cell biology preferred.

We believe you have interest in technology and innovation with strong communication and interpersonal skills. You also have the ability to analyze customer needs and propose appropriate solutions.

Locations:

  • This is a field role; with the ability to travel as Required to meet with Clients and attend industry events.
  • Remote within the Territory, near a major airport preferably customer base (St. Louis, Chicago, MN,)
  • Territory: WA, OR, ID, MT, WY, ND, SD, NE, MN, IA, WI, IL, MI, IN, OH and occasionally site visit in Canada.

Practical conditions:

  • Ability to lift and transport bioprinters (up to 70 lbs.)
  • Travel required to customer sites for training, support, and relationship management; a valid driver’s license is necessary and US Passport.
  • Ability to work flexible hours to accommodate customer needs.
Compensation and Benefits:

The base salary range for this position is $85,000-$90,000.  Benefits include 401K with company match, PTO, Health Benefits, Investment in Professional and Personal Development, and much more.
