Job Summary:

The Business Development Representative, Business Accounts is a “hunter” role, responsible for expanding RedShelf’s B2B customer base by identifying target organizations, initiating first contact, qualifying opportunities and securing new contracts. The ideal candidate will have a passion for finding opportunities and securing new deals. This individual will bring a high level of energy to the role and will be motivated working in a metrics-oriented environment.

Duties & Responsibilities: 

  • Daily cold calling, sending emails and conducting discovery calls with prospects
  • Maintain, organize and manage book of business in assigned segment
  • Become a subject matter expert for RedShelf solutions in the business accounts market
  • Updating and keeping informative records in our CRM
  • Effectively gathering market feedback and industry intelligence, while reporting your experiences, challenges, and progress to the organization
  • Contribute to the brainstorming and execution of new strategies
  • Networking, in-person meetings, attending events and other activities that serve to generate leads and secure new deals

 

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Two to three years of experience in a quota-based, commission-based sales or business development role
  • Exceptional communicator
  • Demonstrated success using cold calling to secure new business deals
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and/or Google Suite tools
  • Extensive experience utilizing CRM software
  • Strong understanding of API solutions and SaaS market preferred
  • Ability to build & manage a large book of business
  • Evidence of working successfully independently and as part of a team

 

Other Desirable Skills/Experience:

  • Knowledge and appreciation of the corporate learning and professional development landscape, learning materials, and / or digital publishing
  • SaaS solution sales experience
  • Comfort and/or experience in a fast-paced, rapidly growing environment - able to deal with some ambiguity
  • Ideal candidate is self-sufficient and highly motivated, self-directed and possess high energy and a passion for RedShelf
