Team Lead, Business Development Representative
The Role
The Business Development Team Lead is the captain of the business development team. A hybrid role, 60% of their time will be dedicated to scheduling Discovery Calls with senior decision-makers, and 40% of their time spent mentoring and managing campaigns. Reporting to the Director of Field Marketing & Business Development, the Business Development Team Lead will assist the team in meeting their quarterly appointment and conversion goals. Responsibilities include:
- Meeting individual quarterly appointment goals with senior decision-makers (CXO, SVP)
- Suggesting content for outbound call and email campaigns
- Creating and managing campaigns in Salesforce
- Mentoring and coaching team members on prospecting techniques
- Updating process documentation in business development handbook
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field
- 3-5 years of prior experience in a sales capacity (software or SaaS sales is a plus)
- Hands-on experience with teaching sales techniques, including cold calls
- Track record of having achieved sales quotas
- Experience using a CRM, preferably Salesforce.com
- Excellent negotiation skills and written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to close for a next step
- Motivation, drive, and a self-starting attitude, with a desire for continuous learning
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
- Ability to multi-task, take initiative, prioritize, and manage time effectively
