JOB DESCRIPTION:
This role owns SAP Commissions configuration support, translates compensation plan requirements into system logic, and partners with enterprise data teams to enable automated, accurate incentive calculations and ongoing optimization of incentive compensation plans within the SAP Commissions platform.
This role serves as a critical connector between the business, People Technology, and Enterprise Data teams—translating compensation plan requirements into system logic, ensuring required data and metrics are available and integrated, and enabling accurate, automated incentive calculations.
The role acts as a configuration backup and functional expert, supporting plan builds, enhancements, and system-driven automation of commission processes.
Responsibilities:
Provide plan configuration support, including the build of new compensation plans
Monitor integrations and coordinate with the enterprise data team on new integrations and break-fix
Define specs and requirements to bring data into SAP
Provide reporting and downstream integration support (e.g. payroll data exports)
Partner with Compensation, Finance, and Operations stakeholders to gather and document requirements for new and existing incentive plans
Convert high-level plan designs into details functional specs
Evaluate feasibility of plan designs within system and data constraints
Identify opportunities to standardize or simplify plan structures for scalability
Support data mapping, validation, and integration design between source systems and SAP
Help enable automation by reducing manual data loads and dependencies
Collaborate with Enterprise Data Team to:
Confirm required metrics exist in data warehouse
Define data source and transformation logic
Ensure data is structured appropriately for SAP Commissions ingestion
Participate in ongoing platform support, issue resolution and enhancement efforts
Identify automation opportunities and reduce manual processes
Contribute to system documentation, process flows, and knowledge base materials
Support governance, control and audit requirements related to the compensation system
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in information systems, Finance, Business, HR, or related field
3-5 years of experience in systems analysis, HRIS, or compensation systems
1-3 years of hands-on experience with SAP Commissions (ICM) configuration and support
Proven experience configuring SAP Commissions including:
Compensation plan builds and enhancements
Rule configuration (e.g. credit, measurement, incentive and deposit rules)
Data model setup (participants, positions, plans, and hierarchies)
Ability to translate compensation plan designs into system logic and functional specs
Familiarity with reporting outputs, dashboards, and downstream integrations
Experience defining and supporting data integrations into SAP Commissions including:
Collaboration with enterprise data and data warehouse teams
Ability to monitor integrations, troubleshoot issues, and coordinate break/fix resolution
