The Shared Business Services Business Analyst leads initiatives across functional workstreams to drive continuous improvement and implement solutions to create more efficient and standardized organizational processes. A successful associate in this role demonstrates a desire to lead within the organization as they engage with people, processes, and technology to guide actionable and timely results. This position requires taking initiative and a willingness to work in a flexible and fast-paced environment while balancing standards, controls, and defined procedures.
This position has been segmented "Remote Anywhere" meaning the work is completed 100% remote anywhere in the U.S. except Hawaii or United States Territories.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:    

Strategy Development and Execution (20%)

  • Collaborate with the SBS Transformation Leadership Team to identify opportunities for prioritization in the overall SBS Transformation Strategic Roadmap.

  • Drive the strategy execution by designing new business processes; streamlining and reengineering existing activities and supporting change management.

  • Operate with a consultative mindset to gain a deep understanding of business needs through strong partnerships within SBS Teams as well as cross-functional stakeholders to improve processes to remain competitive in our industry.

  • Support defining and executing the SBS Organization’s continuous improvement strategy to advance the impact and be influential business partners.

  • Understand best practices within the industry and challenge current thinking to develop a highly effective organization.

  • Facilitate initiative scoping discussions, defining success measures, and setting expectations for cross-functional teams focusing on business outcomes and benefit realization.

  • Communicate and lead through influence amongst all organization levels to support company initiatives.

  • Conduct deep analysis and understanding as issues arise to the root cause and update processes to prevent them from reoccurring.

Support Continuous Improvement and Operational Performance (50%)

  • Leverage data and general business awareness to plan, facilitate, and execute initiatives to improve operational performance and stakeholder experience.

  • Drives standardization across teams and processes to create efficiencies that scale with growth.

  • Demonstrates excellent stakeholder management skills and the ability to influence key stakeholders across the business.

  • Works with the Managed Services Provider and Subject Matter Experts to identify, root cause, and permanently resolve performance issues.

  • Strong business process mapping capabilities, including identification of change impacts and needed business controls.

  • Leads process documentation, benchmarking, and project deployment, while supporting change management and training.

  • Drives quick decision-making through meticulous presentation of data and solutions to streamline processes.

  • Ensures quality of work performed by Managed Services provider and SBS Operations organization meets expectations through various audit and other review procedures.

  • Challenge legacy practices to identify automated solutions and drive out manual waste, spending more time on value-added processes and analysis.

  • Looks to standardization, simplification, and optimization as a way of daily working.

  • Supports disciplined governance activities between US Foods stakeholders and Managed Services provider as well as within internal teams to ensure the advancement of Transformation Strategy.

Project Leadership (25%)

  • Support development and execution of project plans, coordinating internal resources and vendors for the flawless execution of projects.

  • Develop project scopes and objectives, involving all relevant stakeholders and ensuring technical feasibility.

  • Ensure resource availability and allocation to meet business timelines, appropriately reporting and escalating issues to leadership as needed.

  • Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation.

  • Hold stakeholders accountable to timelines and delivery of scoped solutions to ensure maximum benefit.

Personal Development (5%)

  • Create, refine, and execute individual development plan to grow within a role or prepare for other opportunities.

  • Engage in opportunities to learn and network internally and externally to develop a well-rounded perspective and bring best-in-class practices to the role.

  • Pursue personal and learning development opportunities such as Employee Resource Groups (ERG), LMS courses, webinars, etc.

SUPERVISION

Individual contributor with strong ability to lead through influence amongst cross functional teams

RELATIONSHIPS

Internal:       SBS Functions, IT, I&A, Sales Leadership, Field Finance, Category Management, Replenishment, Pricing, Logistics, Supply Chain, Accounting and Finance

External:     US Foods Managed Service Provider, Technology Partners

                  

QUALIFICATIONS

Education/Training:    

  • Bachelor’s degree, or a combination of education and experience equivalent to a Bachelor’s degree.

Related Experience:

  • Prior US Foods cross functional experience, highly preferred

  • Five (5) years of related experience which could include program management, leading through influence across multiple teams to deliver results

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

  • Strong verbal communication and interpersonal skills

  • Demonstrated ability influencing multiple stakeholders at various levels in the organization, external customers and vendors

  • Ability to work and drive outcomes under pressure

  • Exceptional technical and analytical skills, able to think creatively and develop new solutions

  • Achieves results through collaborating effectively with others and team members.

  • Strong communication skills to effectively convey relevant information and ideas with confidence and professionalism

  • Ability to proactively plan and remove barriers, convey urgency, and act with speed to make decisions to focus on delivering results in a collaborative manner

  • Ability to understand connection across complex systems and remove barriers of disparate systems to accomplish results

  • Ability to interpret data and translate into actionable steps; helps drive a culture of continuous improvement working toward department goals 

  • Strong organizational, problem solving and time management skills

  • Intermediate computer skills including Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint required

  • Ability to understand proprietary US Foods systems (e.g. Prism, Tandem, PeopleSoft, EZ Claims)

  • Ability to respond to quickly learn new procedures, processes, product information 

  • Ability to work weekends or holidays if business needs dictate 

  • Ability and willingness to travel for training or business meetings as needed (10%)

Compensation depends on relevant experience and/or education, specific skills, function, geographic location, and other factors as applicable by law (for example: state minimum wage thresholds).  The expected base rate for this role is between

$65,000 - $100,000
