Job Summary:  
Responsible for scheduling outpatient  diagnostic procedures.  To obtain correct patient demographics, physicians name and appointment type.  To utilize appropriate communication and interpersonal skills in all telephone contacts.  Responsible for maintaining working knowledge of procedures scheduled through the computer system.


Job Responsibilities:
    1.   Schedules and enters patient appointments in computer system
    2.   Verifies the accuracy of patient name, diagnosis, physician, etc., obtaining all necessary information
    3.   Communicate any changes in schedule
    4.   Immediately enters cancellations in computer system
    5.   Attempts to reschedule appointment as needed
    6.   Contacts scheduled patients in the event of equipment failure
    7.   Coordinates schedules with other departments as appropriate
    8.   Does Clerk/Receptionist duties as needed

Qualifications

Education Requirements and Other Requirements:

    Education Level:  High school diploma or equivalent preferred

    Certification/Licensure:

    Experience Requirements:  Knowledge of medical terminology preferred.  Good telephone
                                                           manners and interpersonal skills.  Computer experience preferred.
