About the Role
Support cutting-edge water and earth science as a Geospatial / Scientific Analyst. You'll build and analyze geospatial datasets, develop scientific applications, and turn complex environmental data into usable products — directly enabling research and resource-management decisions at a federal science center.
Key Responsibilities
• Perform the full suite of GIS tasks using ArcGIS (and extensions), ERDAS, ENVI, GeoServer, and open-source tools; acquire, create, edit, and manage vector and raster datasets
• Conduct spatial analysis and modeling, including image processing, classification, and feature extraction
• Develop and maintain scientific applications and data pipelines; program in Python, R, C++, C#, .NET, and/or VBA with proper documentation
• Provide statistical support (e.g., R, SAS) and relational database management (Access, MySQL, PostgreSQL) for spatial and non-spatial applications
• Create and maintain FGDC/ISO-compliant metadata; support data life-cycle management and archiving
• Support GPS/telemetry data collection, differential correction, and format conversion as needed
