What’s the role?

We’re in need of a talented Senior Accountant with a knack for accounting and passion for technology to join our team. You’ll be an essential part of a Jellyvision’s financial management reporting to the Controller and managing the AR and AP teams. You’ll need to think strategically with a focus on process improvement and be able to perform all areas of the accounting function.  Jellyvision is on a mission to improve lives and this person will be responsible for finding ways to use our financial resources efficiently in everything that we do.

What you’ll do to be successful

1.) Accounting Operations

• Oversee Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable functions including managing the teams, training cross-functionally, and providing coverage when needed.
• During peak season, provide significant assistance in closing out contracts and setting up invoices.
• Improve and automate the collections process.
• Continuously improve business processes and systems and enhance documentation and controls.
• Manage general ledger and assist in month-end and year-end close. Prepare balance sheet reconciliations quarterly.
• Assist in developing optimal contract to invoice workflow for new business segment, including streamlining collections.
•  Become a key resource in the use and implementation of Salesforce on the accounting team, maintain the product list, and act as liaison with Revenue Operations and Revenue to represent accounting structure and  needs.

We’ll measure this by reduction in delinquent accounts and accurate and timely close functions. 

2.) Cross-Functional Partnership

• Evaluate the ways in which we use our systems  (Intacct, UKG,  Salesforce, Airbase, Yaypay, Pigment, etc)  to suggest ways that we can better integrate and optimize these systems.
•  Engage with cross functional departments to mitigate manual processes in our A/R function.

We’ll measure this by improved workflow and time reduced in closing contracts and invoicing. 

3.) Compliance 

• Support Controller with tax and audit requirements.
• Maintain various aspects of sales tax compliance, including reviewing monthly sales tax returns and oversight of exemption/resale certificates.

We’ll measure this by the timeliness and accuracy of filings and audit.

Experience & skills you’ll need

•     4+ years work experience as a Senior Accountant
•     Great interpersonal and verbal communication skills
•     Sound knowledge of accounting principles, standards and regulations
•     Experience with accounting software and databases
•     Superior data management and data analysis skills
•     Strong time management and organizational skills
•     Detail-oriented with a passion for accuracy

Preferred Qualifications

•     Degree in accounting or related field
•     CPA License
