Optum Insight is improving the flow of health data and information to create a more connected system. This role sits within the Government Programs Actuarial practice and supports Medicare and Medicaid payer clients through actuarial consulting, analytics, forecasting, pricing and strategic advisory services.
You'll enjoy the flexibility to work remotely * from anywhere within the U.S. as you take on some tough challenges. For all hires in the Minneapolis or Washington, D.C. area, you will be required to work in the office a minimum of four days per week.
Primary Responsibilities:
  • Lead actuarial analyses supporting Medicare Advantage, Part D, and Risk Adjustment programs
  • Develop rates, forecasts, pricing models and financial analyses for client engagements
  • Design and execute complex data programs, actuarial models and risk score analyses
  • Partner with clients to deliver consulting recommendations and business insights
  • Provide guidance, mentoring and work direction to actuarial analysts on project teams
  • Support cross-functional engagements involving ACA, Medicaid, Medicare Advantage and related healthcare programs

Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree
  • 4+ completed actuarial examinations and active participation on the actuarial exam track
  • 3+ years of actuarial experience
  • Demonstrated experience building and interpreting actuarial models and financial analyses

Preferred Qualifications:
  • 3+ years of experience leading projects or providing work direction to team members
  • Consulting experience supporting external clients
  • Experience with Medicare Bid submissions or Medicaid rate review
  • ASA or FSA designation

Work Location / Schedule
Remote within the United States. Employees must comply with the UnitedHealth Group Telecommuter Policy. Minneapolis and Washington, D.C. based hires may be required to work in office four days per week

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). No matter where or when you begin a career with us, you'll find a far-reaching choice of benefits and incentives. The salary for this role will range from $91,700 - $163,700 annually based on full-time employment. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
