The Opportunity
Our Community Investment team is focused on connecting the communities where we live and operate across North America. We are looking for a Senior Advisor, Community Investment to support the execution of our giving strategy across Canada and the United States.
In this role, you will be responsible for leading the Canada and U.S. Corporate Giving program in collaboration with TC Energy’s broader External Relations, Projects and Operations teams and other internal business partners. The Senior Advisor will engage with strategic community organizations to create partnerships that enhance the company’s brand and reputation and contribute to strong and resilient communities.
What you’ll do:
Oversee the Canada and U.S. Community Investment budgets, ensuring compliance with internal governance and applicable laws
Develop business cases for new strategic partnerships, detailing alignment with business priorities and the company’s community investment goals, and potential risks and mitigation plans
Collaborate with internal business partners to assess potential partnership opportunities
Engage with Regional Community Investment advisors in Canada and the U.S. to ensure alignment
Build and support new partnerships in priority markets across our Canada and U.S. footprint
Design and execute partnership activation plans to amplify investment stories
In partnership with business partners, develop and implement natural disaster and incident response plans to support community needs, as required
Plan and coordinate volunteer events with community partners and our employees
Champion employee giving campaigns
Create communications materials in collaboration with Communications, including but not limited to: key messages, talking points, videos, briefing notes, and event displays
Act as a TC Energy ambassador at special events or partnership activations, as needed.
Minimum Qualifications:
8-10 years of professional experience in a community investment, community relations, communications, or a nonprofit environment
Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing or other relevant program
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in engaging with key external stakeholders including community leaders, interest groups and non-profit organizations
Familiarity with Benevity or other grants management software
Experience in the energy industry considered an asset
Strong communication, negotiation, and relationship-building abilities
Knowledge of community investment impact measurement and community development principles
