About This Role:
The Senior Analyst conducts innovative research and delivers advice to clients through written reports, consulting, client inquiries, and speeches. As part of Forrester’s B2C marketing research team, this analyst serves leaders who make strategic, organizational, and technology decisions to power growth and new revenue streams with customer-centric advertising and commerce strategies. This role entails research and analysis, writing, and delivering various content types including speaking engagements that balance visionary points of view with practical advice and guidance. 

Brands pursue multiple revenue streams, including audience and content monetization, ecommerce and retail sales, affiliate marketing, subscriptions and more. The key is effective use of advertising technologies and advertising activation. A successful analyst candidate will guide marketing and digital business leaders’ ad tech investments and activation decisions across the digital advertising ecosystem. You have a deep understanding of the business of advertising and a strong POV on modern ad tech stack components such as SSPs, ad servers, and identity/audience solutions. You also understand common monetization models and how they integrate with the broader commerce strategies.

The ideal candidate has a confident voice and is comfortable speaking with the press, delivering keynote speeches, and advising technology, marketing, and digital business executives across industries. We are looking for an individual who is motivated to address Forrester clients’ top priorities by guiding and advising them on the future of advertising technology and activation strategies. 

Job Description:

  • Content planning: Determine an integrated research and content portfolio based on clients’ top priorities and market opportunities. 
  • Research: Oversee, conduct, and analyze primary research based on content plan. 
  • Publishing: Write/produce content in various formats (reports, blog posts, data digests, infographics, video, etc.). 
  • Client engagement: Apply Forrester’s research and frameworks to help clients solve business challenges through short- and long-term consulting engagements. 
  • Thought leadership: Establish an industry presence as an influential speaker and thinker. Speak with the press, present at Forrester and external industry events, and deliver client presentations and webinars. 
  • Coverage development: Evolve and productize marketplace coverage, and work with Forrester sales and analyst relations to evangelize it with clients and prospects. 

Job Requirements:

  • At least 5 years relevant experience at an agency, technology vendor, brand (in-house), or consulting firm. 
  • Understanding of the advertising and commerce technology landscape, how the componentry works together with owned experiences, media and marketplaces, how it intersects with services solutions such as those provided by agencies, and the industry’s vendor landscape. 
  • Understanding of media planning, buying, and ad ops process. 
  • Superior writing, presentation, and analytical skills. 
  • The ability to be bold and conceptual yet practical and actionable. 
  • A profound spirit of collaboration as part of a supportive, integrated team. 
  • The ability to travel 20%-30% based on client need. 
     

Please note that the base salary range indicated here is inclusive of all applicable US geographies listed in this requisition, with the exception of New York City and San Francisco. This salary range is based upon the position as described in the job listing. The offered compensation may vary within this range and is dependent upon the successful candidate’s primary work location, experience, training, education, and credentials.
Base salary range: $119,000-193,000
Base salary range for New York City, NY & San Francisco, CA: $136,000 – 222,000
For employees based in Washington State, the percentage listed here is an estimated bonus target as a percentage of base salary, in accordance with the Forrester Employee Bonus plan. Individual and company performance, as well as other eligibility criteria, will determine the actual incentive amount.
Bonus target: 10%
