Senior Analyst, Business Development, Government Engagement
Overview
The Regional Government Engagement unit engages across a number of markets in Asia Pacific to design and launch strategic commercial programs in for the Government segment. Mastercard's focused approach to engaging with government agencies aims at building sustainable partnerships while developing new revenue opportunities, making Mastercard a strategic partner to Governments. To effectively support both nation-wide or agency-focused marquee engagements, Mastercard is building dedicated analytical and program management capacity in the government space.
Role
As a Senior Analyst, Government Engagement, you will play a key role in supporting program development and execution for government-focused initiatives. This includes:• Assist in developing solution- or market-focused engagement plans in collaboration with the local Government Engagement lead and Country Manager. Contribute to scoping initiatives, defining expected outcomes, and identifying resource needs.• Support creation of business models and deal structures for government-related activities. Conduct financial and strategic analysis to inform decision-making.• Monitor program KPIs and assist with business case development. Track progress across engagement phases: Discover, Prioritize, Plan, Execute, Codify.• Work with the Government Center of Excellence (CoE) and other corporate units to identify relevant solutions and assets. Help align program objectives and ROI.• Coordinate workstreams, maintain timelines, and manage documentation for program governance.• Prepare updates, organize meetings/workshops, and manage communication with Country Managers, regional teams, and global CoE leads.• Analyze demand for existing and future Mastercard solutions to inform engagement strategies.• Support pipeline tracking, documentation (playbooks), and vendor engagement to enable replication across markets.
All About You• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with experience in business planning, market research, and performance tracking.• Background in consulting, financial analysis, or strategic planning; passion for payments/fintech and public sector engagement.• Familiarity with government processes and public sector dynamics is a plus.• Experience in project coordination, governance, and issue resolution.• Ability to synthesize data into actionable insights and communicate effectively across stakeholders.• Exposure to solution development and product lifecycle concepts is advantageous.
