Overview of the Role 

  • The Senior Analyst, BI Tools will lead the development, standardization, and scaling of dashboarding and reporting solutions across the organization. This role sits at the intersection of data engineering, analytics, and business storytelling—owning the infrastructure and outputs that power insights across sales, category, and paid media teams. 
  • This is a highly technical, high-impact role responsible for building enterprise-grade Power BI solutions, creating scalable data models, and enabling self-service analytics across stakeholders. The ideal candidate will act as both a builder and a thought partner, helping define how data is structured, accessed, and visualized across the business. 
  • Fully Remote but if local to Chicago, IL (within 1 hour) will observe a hybrid schedule 3 days in office
  • Travel Required: 5–10% - i.e. client meets, Insights Team meetings, and/ or any other events.
  • Salary Range: $70,000 – $75,000 based on experience, qualifications and skills.

 What You’ll Do at C.A. Fortune 

  • Dashboard Development & Ownership 
    • Design, build, and maintain scalable Power BI dashboards used across internal teams and client engagements 
    • Establish standardized templates and best practices to ensure consistency across all reporting outputs 
    • Translate complex datasets into intuitive, actionable visualizations for business users 
  • Data Modeling & Architecture 
    • Develop and manage robust data models that integrate multiple data sources (POS, syndicated, retail media, internal systems) 
    • Clean, transform, and standardize raw datasets using Power Query and other ETL processes 
    • Ensure data accuracy, governance, and consistency across dashboards and reporting environments 
  • Automation & Scalability 
    • Build automated reporting pipelines that reduce manual work and improve speed to insight 
    • Create repeatable frameworks for weekly, monthly, and quarterly reporting 
    • Identify opportunities to streamline workflows and eliminate inefficiencies 
  • Cross-Functional Enablement 
    • Partner with Insights, Sales, and Media teams to understand reporting needs and translate them into scalable BI solutions 
    • Act as the internal expert on BI tools and visualization best practices 
    • Train and enable team members on dashboard usage and self-service capabilities 
  • Ad-Hoc Analysis & Support 
  • Support rapid-turn analysis requests for client meetings, business reviews, and leadership asks 
  • Develop custom views and deep dives to answer specific business questions 

 What You Should Bring to the Table 

  • 4 – 7+ years of experience in BI, analytics, or data visualization roles (CPG, retail, or ecommerce preferred) 
  • Advanced Power BI expertise (DAX, Power Query, data modeling, performance optimization) 
  • Strong experience with cloud-based data platform, Snowflake
  • Strong experience in integrating and managing multiple data sources 
  • Advanced Excel skills (Power Pivot, complex formulas, large dataset manipulation) 
  • Experience building automated reporting systems used by multiple stakeholders 
  • Strong analytical mindset with the ability to translate data into business insights 
  • Excellent communication skills with ability to simplify complex concepts 
  • Bachelor’s degree in Data Analytics, Data Science, Business Analytics or related is required 

You Will Stand Out If You Have 

  • SQL experience (writing complex queries, working with large datasets) 
  • Experience with cloud data warehouses (Snowflake, Databricks, etc.) 
  • Python or R for data manipulation 
  • Experience with CPG syndicated data sources (NIQ, Circana, SPINS) 
  • Experience supporting retail media or ecommerce analytics
