Who We Are

Weber Shandwick is more than a leading global PR agency – we’re an engagement agency and we’re working in and around the cutting edge of the new media landscape. We’re storytellers, content creators, and we engage people IN the story. Our success is built on a deep commitment to client service and to our people. We embrace creativity and collaboration, and we engage stakeholders in new and creative ways to build brands and reputations.

Senior Associate, Chicago

We are looking for a strong Senior Associate for our Consumer Practice in Chicago who can support multi-channel campaigns and help bring to life the best in-culture ideas for some of the most iconic (and sweet!) brands.

If you have a passion for working in food, CPG and lifestyle, are obsessed with keeping up with culture, and enjoy staying current on the media landscape, then this role is for you.

Is This You?

  • Critical Thinking: Do you have a curious mind that thrives on creative thinking and solving tough challenges? Do you love connecting the dots that others miss?
  • Earned-First Storytelling: Do you just get what makes a story pop? Are you constantly scrolling, watching what brands are doing, and thinking about what they should do next?
  • Communication: Do you have a way with words? Can you craft a headline, a pitch, or a client email that’s so compelling people can’t help but pay attention?
  • Teamwork: Do you thrive on collaborating with colleagues, clients and agency partners to create work that makes everyone proud?
  • Interpersonal Skills: Do you bring the good vibes? Are you known for being a great partner?
  • The Tech Stuff: Are you a pro with the basics like Word, PowerPoint, and Excel? (Bonus points for media databases and social tracking tool experiences).
  • Detail-Orientated: Do you have a keen attention to detail and a commitment to delivering clear and precise work, whether it’s a client-facing email, internal deck, storytelling narrative, a recap report – or even just a Team’s message?
  • A Unique Spark: Do you know what makes you, you? Are you driven by a passion to create fun, smart, and impactful work that makes a difference?
  • An Obsession with Culture: Do you have a clear understanding of what drives culture, with a passion for tapping into pop culture to reach broad and diverse audiences?

What We’re Looking For:

  • Senior associate with a minimum of 3-4 years of experience and a background in consumer, consumer-tech, travel, fashion and/or CPG PR.
  • BA or BS in Public Relations, Communications, Journalism or related field.
  • Strong experience with both large-scale and start-up business environments preferred.
  • Excellent communication/presentation skills; verbal and written.
  • Contribution to earned media campaigns including thought leadership, product launches, earned-first creative campaigns, and more.

If this below sounds like a sweet spot for your experience and your career, we'd love to hear from you!
