We’re seeking a future team member for the role of Liquidity & Financing Platform Sales to join our BNY Markets team. This role is located in Chicago, 

In this role, you’ll make an impact in the following ways: 

  • Represent BNY Markets capabilities across our Liquidity, Collateral & Securities Finance capabilities, becoming a subject matter expert in capabilities.
  • Serve as part of a regional team, partnering with a senior sales leader locally, focused on supporting & sourcing new institutional business development opportunities.
  • Coordinate with Regional & National Sales and Business Heads to develop and agree on targets (segment, client, product etc) for prospective clients.
  • Understand & develop fluency within topics of Liquidity Management, Collateral Management, and Securities Finance capabilities through a business development focus.
  • Establish self as an advisor and facilitate access and connectivity to the client c-suite, leverage skillset to support, absorb and develop ability to lead detailed executive discussions on clients leveraging BNY Markets solutions.
  • Execute on new business that supports our client strategy and targets and aligns with our control environment, including management of our client pipeline. 
  • Work closely with related teams (RMs, AMs, CSD) and other firm-wide resources (marketing, legal, compliance, etc.) to ensure all risk management/compliance activities relevant to business development activities are conducted and captured.
  • Serves in a consultative role to prospects, advising on the best way to achieve their short- and long- term strategic objectives through the firm’s solutions.
  • Contributes to and advises on negotiation strategy for the business unit.
  • Closes new prospects or new client arrangements by structuring deals (pricing, contract terms, etc.) that achieve optimal terms for both the client and the firm. Ensures deals are compliant with all regulations.
  • Support the Proposal & RFP bidding processes.
  • Attend industry events, seminars etc., to deepen and broaden knowledge and expertise on industry trends and the competitive landscape.
  • Typically pursues large, complex prospects requiring multi-year, long-term pursuit processes.
  • Closing deals are critical to the achievement of unit goals and objectives
     

To be successful in this role, we’re seeking the following: 

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years of financial/investment industry sales experience preferred. 
  • Well-versed in the financial services industry and detailed insight into clients’ businesses.
  • Independence with an ability to take ownership and accountability with urgency.
  • Commitment to excellence, creativity and a high level of integrity, with a diligent mindset.
  • Collaborative, team-oriented and service-oriented.
  • Extremely strong verbal and written communication skills, as well as strong organizational, interpersonal and time management skills.
  • Desire to work in a past-faced, lean environment, engaging with senior stakeholders across BNY.

BNY assesses market data to ensure a competitive compensation package for our employees. The base salary for this position is expected to be between $58,000 and $112,000 per year at the commencement of employment. However, base salary if hired will be determined on an individualized basis, including as to experience and market location, and is only part of the BNY total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, discretionary bonuses, short and long-term incentive packages, and Company-sponsored benefit programs. 
This position is at-will and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, change in geographic location, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
