Position Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Development Engineer to join our dynamic Medicaid Technology team. This role is ideal for a candidate with a strong foundation in software engineering and a passion for healthcare technology, particularly in the Medicaid domain.

You will contribute to modernizing our Medicaid claims infrastructure by leveraging cloud-native technologies, automation, and intelligent processing to improve accuracy, reduce administrative costs, and enhance the experience for both providers and members.

You will play a critical role in designing, developing, and maintaining robust, scalable software solutions that support the end-to-end lifecycle of Medicaid claims processing including intake, validation, adjudication, and analytics. You will work with complex data structures, state-specific rules, and evolving regulatory requirements to ensure timely and accurate claims resolution.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the design, development, and implementation of complex software solutions.

  • Collaborate with product managers, designers, and other engineers to define and deliver high-quality software products.

  • Mentor and guide junior engineers, providing technical expertise and fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.

  • Conduct code reviews to ensure adherence to best practices and coding standards.

  • Troubleshoot and resolve software defects and issues in a timely manner.

  • Stay up to date with emerging technologies and industry trends and incorporate them into the development process as appropriate.

  • Participate in the full software development lifecycle, including requirements gathering, design, coding, testing, and deployment.

Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in software development engineering.

  • 5+ years experience with C++ or C# .Net

  • 5+ years working with software development methodologies, including Agile and Scrum.

  • 5+ years experience with version control systems such as Git.

  • 5+ years of experience with SQL and RESTful APIs

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Python or JavaScript.

  • Experience with cloud computing platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.

  • Knowledge of DevOps practices and tools.

  • Experience with microservices architecture and RESTful API design.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

Education

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience (High School Diploma and 4 years relevant experience)

Pay Range

The typical pay range for this role is:

$92,700.00 - $203,940.00

This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls.  The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors.  This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above.
