About the Role
We're looking for a Senior Backend Software Engineer to help shape the infrastructure behind cutting-edge LLM alignment. You’ll design the systems that transform research breakthroughs into real-world products, fast, reliable, and built to scale.
This isn’t just another backend role. You'll be working hand-in-hand with researchers and product teams to bring alignment workflows to life, build internal tools for experimentation, and power the next generation of enterprise LLM customization. If you’re excited by the idea of building something novel from the ground up and leaving your fingerprints on a rapidly evolving space, we’d love to meet you.
What You’ll Do
Design, build, and scale backend systems using Python and FastAPI
Architect robust APIs and services to support our alignment workflows and customer-facing tools
Optimize infrastructure for performance, latency, and scale
Collaborate with researchers and ML engineers to integrate models and support experimentation
Build tooling to evaluate and visualize model behavior
Implement testing frameworks, CI/CD pipelines, and monitoring systems
Work across SQL/NoSQL databases, designing efficient schemas and data pipelines
Contribute to a strong engineering culture and help define backend best practices
Stay current with backend trends and emerging technologies
What We’re Looking For
5+ years of backend engineering experience, ideally at startups or fast-paced teams
Strong proficiency in Python (FastAPI or similar frameworks)
Experience designing APIs, microservices, and distributed systemsHands-on experience with DevOps tools (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes, AWS, GitHub Actions)
Familiarity with data modeling, query optimization, and both SQL and NoSQL databases
Experience working closely with ML teams or building ML infrastructure is a plus
A bias for shipping, ownership, and thoughtful system design
Experience with Celery (or similar task queues) for async model workflows, including retries, scheduling, monitoring, and production ops.
Bonus: Interest in LLMs, post-training techniques (e.g., reward models, evaluation, data curation), or alignment research
Why Join Us
Shape the future of aligned AI at the infrastructure layer
Work alongside top researchers, engineers, and operators in a high-trust, low-ego team
Comprehensive health, dental, and vision coverage
Build meaningful systems with real-world impact and technical depth
This is a rare opportunity to join a small, high-performing team and help build something that matters. Let’s redefine what enterprise AI can be.
