JOB SUMMARY

This role will specifically guide the definition and delivery of capabilities related to the Epic Payer Platform and other EHR vendor interoperability solutions, focusing on enabling efficient payer-provider and payer-payer healthcare data exchange.  The role will be part of the enGen data organization. 

This job is responsible for the definition, planning, and delivery of complex product/technology capabilities that require cross-functional collaboration and alignment to product/technology roadmaps. Includes management of interdependencies between a group of projects or a single project, and related activities within the constraint of scope, quality, time and budget. Understands the product/technology roadmap, capabilities, and the business value proposition. Develops and communicates a data-driven impact analysis, including risk assessment and mitigation.  Assesses, track, and addresses financial and budgetary statuses. Ensures the business value is delivered and realized for the capability and passed on to customers.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Define, plan, and deliver on product/technology capability roadmaps, working with the executive sponsor (Director or higher), and other management as required to ensure achievement of the objectives of defined. Organize, direct, and coordinate cross-functional activities to focus resources on the successful delivery and implementation of the desired results for a defined program and/or strategic initiative.
  • Plan, organize and control the day-to-day operations of the project, including budgetary oversight and optimal resource utilization. Direct corrective action as needed to maintain the viability of the program, reports to the executive team/sponsor/steering committee on the progress, business impacts, and strategies around the project(s).
  • Work with stakeholders to frame out delivery strategy and approach. Organize, plan, and maintain delivery roadmap consisting of cross-functional activities/projects.
  • Work with stakeholders to assemble backlogs. Lead solutions or teams in the development and maintenance of comprehensive plans.
  • Work with Executive Sponsor and other management as required to achieve the delivery objectives. Acquire understanding of the value proposition of the capability/technology. Understand customer commitments and regulatory requirements.
  • Leverage industry leading Lean and Agile practices and audit requirements. Support and contribute to the improvement of delivery methods, security, and practices.
  • Other duties as assigned or requested.
  • Drive alignment and integration efforts across various teams and external partners for EHR interoperability initiatives, ensuring seamless data flow and communication.
  • Proactively identify and manage risks and dependencies related to complex healthcare data exchange projects, particularly those involving Epic and other major EHR systems.

EDUCATION

Required

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Management Information Science or related field, or relevant experience and/or education as determined by the company in lieu of bachelor's degree.  

Substitutions

  • An Associate's Degree with an additional 2-4 years of relevant professional experience, OR
  • An additional 4-6 years of relevant professional experience beyond the stated 5 years of required experience, for a total of 9-11 years of relevant experience in Product Ownership, Strategic Consulting, Design Thinking, Product Development & Management, or Project/Program Management

Preferred

  • Master's Degree or advanced certification in Business Administration, Management Information Science, Health Informatics, Information Technology, or a related healthcare-specific field.

EXPERIENCE

  • 5 to 8 years’ work experience in project management
  • 5+ years’ work experience delivering business solutions using information technology
  • Proven experience in facilitating healthcare data exchange projects between payers and providers, or between different payers

 

Preferred

  • Demonstrated experience managing complex projects or capabilities within the healthcare IT sector.
  • Experience with the Epic Payer Platform or other major Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems in an interoperability context.

  • Certified Scrum Professional (CSP)
  • Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO)
  • Certified Scrum Master (CSM) or equivalent
  • Certifications related to healthcare interoperability standards (e.g., HL7 FHIR certification)
  • Certifications in specific EHR platforms or data integration tools

  • Understanding of payer and provider workflows and their intersections in data exchange
  • Ability to effectively manage stakeholder expectations and communications across diverse technical and business teams involved in healthcare interoperability
  • Proficiency in identifying and leveraging technology solutions to enhance healthcare data exchange and integration

Pay Range Minimum:

$94,200.00

Pay Range Maximum:

$151,000.00

Base pay is determined by a variety of factors including a candidate’s qualifications, experience, and expected contributions, as well as internal peer equity, market, and business considerations.  The displayed salary range does not reflect any geographic differential Highmark may apply for certain locations based upon comparative markets.
