Lead technical strategy and delivery for VMware-to-AWS migrations and cloud infrastructure. Advise customer leadership, design target architectures, review designs/code and IaC, mentor delivery teams, and drive engagements to agreed outcomes.

About the Role

The Senior Cloud Architect is the senior technical voice on customer engagements — shaping technical strategy, earning the trust of the customer's technical leadership, and turning ambiguous business problems into an executable AWS architecture and delivery plan. The work is predominantly business acumen and consulting, with architecture and hands-on technical depth as the foundation that makes the advice credible. You bring a strong balance of technical, professional, and leadership skills: enough depth to review designs and IaC and go deep in a design session, and enough presence to drive a room of senior stakeholders to a decision.

The shape of the role varies by engagement. On larger programs, you'll step in as the Delivery Tech Lead — the senior technical leader of a workstream, working alongside AWS Professional Services. You'll coordinate with the customer's technical leadership, develop the engagement's technical strategy, partner with the Engagement Manager on an achievable project plan and adequate staffing, and mentor consultants to milestone delivery. On smaller AWS migration projects, you'll work hands-on alongside our offshore delivery team — designing and building directly, not only directing. You'll work across a broad stakeholder set: AWS consultants, Delivery Practice Managers, Engagement Managers, Chief Architects, partner consultants, and customer technical staff.

Engagements center on VMware-to-AWS migrations — discovery, wave planning, and execution at scale — along with the foundational multi-account strategy, networking, and security architecture those migrations land on.

Key Responsibilities

Customer & Engagement Leadership

  • Serve as senior technical advisor to customer leadership, translating architecture, risk, and trade-offs into business decisions.

  • Drive discussions to an outcome across technical and non-technical audiences; recommend best-fit approaches prescriptively and emphatically.

  • Own the engagement's technical strategy and drive it to a documented, agreed target state.

  • Frame options with clear cost, risk, and time-to-value trade-offs; shape scope, estimates, and staffing models.

Delivery Leadership (as Delivery Tech Lead, where the engagement requires)

  • Partner with the customer's technical leadership and the Engagement Manager on an achievable project plan and adequate staffing.

  • Mentor consultants toward project tasks and milestones; own quality and completion of the engagement.

  • Operate two-in-a-box with AWS Professional Services and partner consultants in an Agile delivery model.

Technical Direction & Hands-On Delivery

  • Set the target architecture and standards the delivery team builds against; review designs, code, and IaC personally.

Why You'll Love It Here
  • Our Product is Our People: We live by this. We invest in people who invest in themselves. Your growth is our growth.

  • True Servant Leadership: Our CTO leads with a "force multiplier" philosophy. Management is here to empower you and clear roadblocks, not to micromanage. We won't ask you to do anything we're not willing to do ourselves.

  • Flat Organization, Real Impact: Your voice and designs will directly shape our technical roadmap and our clients' success. You'll work on the latest tech to solve real problems.

  • A "Learn-from-it" Culture: We're moving fast and building new things. We believe mistakes are learning opportunities, not failures.

We seek diverse talent who are ready to make an immediate impact. We believe that innovation thrives when teams are built with a variety of backgrounds, experiences, and perspectives. If you are excited by this mission, we encourage you to apply, even if your experience doesn't perfectly match every qualification listed.
