DevOps Engineer – AWS Cloud
Location: Remote
Position Summary
We are seeking a motivated and technically strong DevOps Engineer to join Revecore’s cloud engineering team. Reporting directly to the AWS Architect, this mid-senior role is central to the execution of our cloud infrastructure strategy. You will design and maintain scalable, secure AWS environments through Infrastructure as Code (IaC), drive DevOps automation across the full software delivery lifecycle, build serverless and cloud-native architectures, and contribute hands-on to cloud migration initiatives.
This role goes beyond day-to-day operations – you will contribute to architectural decisions, champion IaC best practices, and operate with a high degree of autonomy while working closely with the AWS Architect on platform direction. The ideal candidate has 4–7 years of AWS and DevOps experience, is deeply hands-on, and is ready to grow into a senior platform leadership track.
Key Responsibilities
- Infrastructure as Code: Design, author, and maintain cloud infrastructure using AWS CloudFormation, CDK, and/or Terraform; enforce IaC standards, module reusability, DRY principles, state management, and drift detection across all environments.
- DevOps Engineering: Design and maintain end-to-end CI/CD pipelines (AWS CodePipeline, CodeBuild, CodeDeploy, GitHub Actions); implement GitOps workflows, shift-left practices including SAST/DAST and policy-as-code, SLO/SLI tracking, secrets management, and participate in on-call and incident response.
- Serverless & Cloud-Native: Build event-driven architectures using Lambda, Step Functions, EventBridge, SQS/SNS, and API Gateway; evaluate and apply the right compute pattern (Lambda vs. ECS Fargate vs. App Runner vs. EC2) while optimizing for performance, cost, and observability.
- Cloud Migrations: Execute migration initiatives using AWS Migration Hub and the 7Rs framework, including lift-and-shift, re-platforming, and re-architecting workloads; assist with database migrations via DMS/SCT and post-migration right-sizing and Savings Plan optimization.
- AWS Platform Engineering: Architect and manage networking (VPC, Transit Gateway, Direct Connect, Route 53), security posture (IAM, SCPs, GuardDuty, Security Hub, Config), observability stacks (CloudWatch, X-Ray, ADOT), container workloads on ECS/EKS, and multi-account strategies via Control Tower.
Required Qualifications
- 4–7 years of hands-on AWS cloud engineering or DevOps experience in production environments, with strong proficiency in IaC tooling (AWS CDK, CloudFormation, and/or Terraform).
- Proven experience designing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines, release automation, and cloud-native/serverless architectures using Lambda, Step Functions, and EventBridge.
- Solid knowledge of core AWS services (compute, networking, storage, security, databases), IAM least-privilege principles, and compliance frameworks including HIPAA, SOC 2, and PCI-DSS.
- Proficiency in at least one scripting or programming language (Python, TypeScript, Go, or Bash); strong communication skills across technical and non-technical teams.
- AWS Solutions Architect Associate or AWS DevOps Engineer Professional certification, or actively pursuing.
Preferred Qualifications
- Working knowledge of Azure DevOps pipelines and Azure cloud services (Functions, AKS, Monitor, Azure AD); experience with multi-account AWS Organizations and Control Tower governance.
- Familiarity with FinOps and AWS cost optimization tooling (Cost Explorer, Compute Optimizer, Savings Plans); experience with observability platforms such as Datadog, Grafana, or New Relic.
- Additional AWS certifications (Security, Advanced Networking, or Database Specialty); Microsoft Azure Administrator Associate or Azure DevOps Engineer Expert a plus.
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field preferred; Associate’s degree or equivalent technical certification accepted with commensurate experience.
- 4–7 years of professional cloud engineering or DevOps experience, with 2+ years in AWS environments in a DevOps or platform engineering capacity; relevant AWS certifications strongly preferred.
Work at Home Requirements:
- A quiet, distraction-free environment to work from in your home.
- A secure internet connection is required.
- Home internet with speeds >20 Mbps for downloads and >10 Mbps for uploads.
- The workspace area accommodates all workstation equipment and related materials and provides adequate surface area to be productive.
