Our client, a mission-driven, fast-growing private cloud company and leader in real-time analytics, data warehousing, and data observability, has exclusively engaged Solutus Legal Search to assist its executives in hiring an attorney to serve as Senior Commercial Counsel.

This attorney will be an early member of the company’s legal team. This attorney will be responsible for supporting the sales team in reviewing and negotiating customer agreements and providing legal support for revenue-generating activities in the Americas.

Responsibilities:

  • Support the go-to-market team by reviewing and negotiating customer contracts. This role will support the Americas.
  • Lead complex transactions with sophisticated counterparties across multiple jurisdictions.
  • Monitor and advise on relevant regulatory, compliance, and legal developments.
  • Provide training, maintain and update policies and templates, and develop and improve scalable workflows to support and enable the company’s growth.

Requirements:

  • Strong academic credentials and membership in good standing with at least one U.S. state bar and eligible to practice in house in your state of residence.
  • 7+ years of relevant experience, with strong training at a top-rated national or international law firm. Law firm and in-house experience at a high-growth technology company is preferred.
  • Proven experience drafting, negotiating, and closing complex commercial software and SaaS agreements with enterprise customers, partners, and resellers across multiple jurisdictions.
  • Strong understanding of commercial legal issues related to SaaS and software licensing, professional services, and other go-to-market programs.
  • Excellent judgment, strong business orientation, and ability to translate legal risk into practical commercial advice.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and management skills and the ability to build trust with sales teams, cross-functional stakeholders, and customers.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-moving, high-growth environment.
  • Experience supporting a high-growth infrastructure SaaS company is a plus.
