Our Compliance Monitoring team plays a critical role in assessing controls, identifying areas of risk, and fostering strong relationships to enhance our compliance framework.


What you’ll do:

Control Assessment & Risk Identification

  • Evaluate the effectiveness of internal controls, including design, procedures, and operational performance.
  • Identify weaknesses and potential gaps in control frameworks, investigating any deficiencies to recommend corrective actions.
  • Conduct comprehensive control tests and assessments, ensuring alignment with regulatory and compliance requirements.
  • Develop test plans and procedures to proactively identify risks and improve control mechanisms.
  • Collaborate in running the Global Compliance Monitoring Team governance program and collaborate with other Compliance teams to develop a risk-based book of monitoring work.

Stakeholder Collaboration & Relationship Building

  • Work closely with internal stakeholders across various business functions to enhance control effectiveness and risk mitigation strategies.
  • Provide expert guidance and advisory support to stakeholders regarding compliance and operational risks.
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with key teams, fostering a culture of accountability and compliance.

Reporting & Continuous Improvement

  • Develop detailed reports and presentations to communicate findings, recommendations, and risk mitigation strategies to senior management.
  • Contribute to a knowledge-sharing environment by documenting control assessments and best practices.
  • Continuously monitor the control environment, adapting to evolving regulatory standards and business needs.

Who you are:

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to assess complex control environments. Ability to quickly understand complex concepts and adapt to new information.
  • Risk-based and pragmatic approach to solutions and problem-solving.
  • Experience in a Compliance or similar risk and controls type function.
  • Knowledge of US and EU financial regulations and experience working in a highly regulated industry.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate across departments.

Below is the expected base salary for this position. This is a good-faith estimate of the base pay scale for this position and offers will ultimately be determined based on experience, education, skill set, and performance in the interview process. This position will also be eligible for a discretionary bonus (if determined by Optiver) and Optiver’s benefits package with the benefits listed above.
