  • Serve as the lead analyst on consulting engagements supporting parks and recreation agencies, library systems, and other municipal departments.
  • Prepare clear, accurate, and client-ready reports, presentations, and supporting materials.
  • Translate complex financial and technical information into practical recommendations for executives, department leaders, governing boards, and elected officials.
  • Support economic impact analysis and contribute to the expansion of related advisory services.
  • Participate in client interviews, workshops, stakeholder meetings, and presentations.
  • Collaborate with project managers and subject matter experts to integrate financial analysis into broader organizational, operational, strategic, and master planning initiatives.
  • Apply and continuously improve BerryDunn's financial methodologies, analytical tools, and consulting practices.
  • Contribute to quality assurance and quality control efforts to help ensure accuracy, consistency, and excellence in project deliverables.
  • Build trusted relationships with clients and serve as a valued advisor throughout project engagements.
  • Support proposal development, business development activities, and thought leadership initiatives.
  • Share knowledge and contribute to the development of internal financial analysis capabilities across the Parks, Recreation, and Libraries Practice.
  • Progressively assume responsibility for managing and leading standalone financial consulting projects.
You Have
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Public Administration, Economics, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Five or more years of professional experience in municipal finance, local government consulting, public-sector budgeting, financial analysis, or a related discipline.
  • Demonstrated experience conducting financial analyses and developing recommendations for local government organizations.
  • Experience with fee studies, cost recovery analyses, cost-of-service studies, financial modeling, budgeting, forecasting, or financial sustainability assessments.
  • Strong understanding of local government operations, funding structures, budgeting practices, and service delivery models.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including financial modeling, data analysis, and scenario development.
  • Ability to collect, analyze, interpret, and synthesize complex financial and operational data.
  • Experience preparing reports, presentations, and client-ready deliverables for executive and public-sector audiences.
  • Strong written, verbal, and presentation communication skills, with the ability to explain complex financial concepts to non-financial audiences.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects, priorities, and deadlines in a consulting or client-service environment.

  • Willingness and ability to travel as required for client engagements.

Preferred:

  • Master's degree in Public Administration (MPA), Business Administration (MBA), Finance, Economics, or a related field.
  • Experience working with parks and recreation agencies, library systems, or other local government departments.
  • Experience conducting cost-of-service, fee, rate, or pricing studies.
