What You Will Do:

Breakthroughs in pharma are helping people live healthier lives, while medical devices enable patients to proactively maintain health – this is undoubtedly a transformative time for health care companies. Guidehouse’s Life Sciences practice is an engine of innovation, helping pharmaceutical, biotech, medical device, and diagnostic companies develop custom solutions that tackle today’s challenges, while anticipating tomorrows. You will have an immediate impact by partnering with our clients, across all levels, to deliver product planning, pricing, reimbursement, product commercialization, and regulatory and compliance solutions. 

As a Senior Consultant, you are responsible for data management, technical delivery, and coaching data engineers to execute client work.  In this role you will develop and improve predictive models for outcomes, efficacy proxies, and forecasting using statistical and machine learning methods in addition to conducting advanced analytics using big datasets, including claims, affiliations, payer, sales, and other sources. You will be responsible for building internal tools and automating workflows to accelerate delivery timelines and improve team productivity. Strong candidates are able to clearly document, process map, and train the business on techniques utilized and constantly search for opportunities to improve outcomes. 
What You Will Need:

  • A BA/BS degree in a quantitative field, such as Data Analytics/Science, Mathematics, Computer Science, Engineering, Statistics, Business Analytics, or related course of study, is required.

  • A Minimum of FOUR (4) years of prior relevant consulting or work experience working with large global pharma, mid-sized pharma, and/or biotech clients.

  • Strong understanding of the pharmaceutical industry, including drug development and launch. 

  • Strong foundation across life science functions, including commercial operations, market access, patient services, and medical

  • The ability work independently to analyze complex information, quality check results, and develop a structured, data-informed story

  • Excellent communication skills to convey technical execution summaries and insight recommendations to various stakeholders, including senior management.

  • Experience performing Data Analytics on large health data sets and possess a strong knowledge of modern datasets and analytics environments

  • Strong fluency coding in SQL, Python (or other equivalent scripting language), cloud data platforms, and knowledge of life sciences data (e.g., claims, EHR, sales data, formulary, and coverage data)

  • Ability to work in a matrixed organization

  • Must be collaborative and a team player.

  • Must be willing and able to travel to Guidehouse and client sites across the US, up to 10% of the time.

  • Authorized/eligible to work for any US employer without sponsorship.

What Would Be Nice To Have:

  • Must have excellent written and oral communication skills.

  • An advanced degree/PhD preferred.

  • Experience working with data platforms such as Databricks, Snowflake, and Palantir

  • Working knowledge of AI/ML and applications in the life sciences industry

  • Demonstrated success in formally supervising, coaching, and mentoring junior-level staff, including ownership and guidance of their career development.

  • Preference will be given to candidates local to the Washington, DC metro area.

 

The annual salary range for this position is $98,000.00-$163,000.00. Compensation decisions depend on a wide range of factors, including but not limited to skill sets, experience and training, security clearances, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs.
