The Role:

We are looking to add an experienced credit analyst to M&G’s Chicago office.

The Credit Analyst is expected to perform and lead fundamental and relative value analyses across investment grade and high yield in multiple sectors. Given the global footprint and diverse stakeholder group the candidate must have great communication skills, embrace teamwork, and fully own decision making.

Key Responsibilities for this role:

To work collaboratively with colleagues and take personal accountability to maintain and enhance controls you are responsible for to support improvement of the overall control environment, customers outcomes and a reduction in M&G’s operational risk as well as:

  • Analyze quantitative and qualitative factors influencing the credit quality of companies from a fundamental and relative value perspectives.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive financial models.
  • Lead analytical coverage of a portfolio of Investment Grade and High Yield credits.
  • Produce written credit research reports and update notes.
  • Synthesize information effectively to analyze new corporate bond issues.
  • Present new Investment recommendations to portfolio management team.
  • Make trade recommendations and liaise closely with portfolio managers and trading desk to implement them.
  • Attend company management meetings, roadshows, and other similar events.
  • Represent the team on internal committees, especially on process, resourcing, systems and IT issues.
  • Develop relationships with other teams to facilitate effective information sharing and communication across the business.
  • Mentor junior members of the credit team.

Key Knowledge, Skills & Experience:

  • Strong experience in High Yield credit
  • Bachelor's degree at minimum, MBA or other advanced degree and CFA/CPA designations a plus.
  • Broad credit analyst experience covering a variety of different sectors and grades.
  • Strong investment analysis fundamentals & relative value.
  • Outstanding and proven track record of using credit / risk analysis skills, experience in evaluating credits and making credit/investment recommendations.
  • Deep knowledge and understanding of Credit Risk Research process, valuation techniques and regulations.
  • Relevant and proven experience at an asset management firm, hedge fund, credit fund, investment bank or private equity firm.
  • A passion for investing and a demonstrated aptitude for substantial financial analysis are essential.
  • Strong excel skills supporting modelling and financial forecasting.

Salary Range 

The referenced salary range represents the pay scale on offer for this position. Actual compensation may vary based on factors such as geographic location, work experience, market conditions, education/training and skills appropriate for the advertised position.  Additionally, employees are eligible for a discretionary annual bonus, and benefits including health care, retirement and wellbeing benefits.

$184,021.00 - $212,527.00
