BASIC FUNCTION:

The Senior Credit Management and Approval Partner facilitates a sustainable process for the management of credit and approvals within the Association, supporting the Association goals, including satisfactory credit quality and consistency in philosophy, training, and development of credit staff. Completes thorough analysis of prior approval requests associated with large, complex corporate, agribusiness, and capital markets credits, ensuring that all such loan actions are within existing Association policy, procedure, and overall risk standards.  Responsible for approval/denial of such loan actions through either the utilization of delegated authority or recommendation to a higher level of authority (i.e. Loan Committee, CMA, or CCO).  Mentors, coaches, counsels, develops, leads, and trains Association-wide credit staff, ensuring that the lending and loan quality standards and objectives are met on a consistent, ongoing basis.  Provides leadership and support to credit staff on complex problem credits.  Actively involved in developing, establishing, and maintaining the Associations credit policies and procedures.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

  • Reviews, approves, and monitors large and complex loans and associated actions, including participations purchased and sold, to control the overall credit risk of the Associations loan portfolio.  Responsible for the analysis and review of credit packages submitted through the prior approval process, ensuring accuracy, compliance (Association policy/procedure, FCA Regulations, etc.), and an overall level of Credit Administration that proves to be satisfactory.
  • Recommends the approval/denial of actions as a member of designated loan committees and approves designated actions through the use of delegated authority.  Proactively consults and coordinates with staff to provide assistance and support for large and complex loan originations. 
  • Coordinates, develops and participates in training to ensure consistent credit training, mentoring, and development, is regularly provided to new and seasoned credit staff throughout the Association. 
  • Actively involved in establishing the Associations credit policies and procedures, ensuring that lending and loan quality goals are met and comply with FCA regulations, District, and Association policies.  Ensures that procedures are implemented consistently throughout the Association and maintain balance between effective processes, safe and sound lending practices, and appropriate internal controls. 
  • Responsible for monitoring and facilitating the Association Commodity Lending Guideline Committee process.  Acts as a Co-Chair on certain Commodity Lending Guideline Committees. 
  • Assists in the departments oversight of the Association's loan monitoring systems, aiding the CMA department in its coordination with the Risk Management and Internal Audit departments on internal credit reviews to monitor credit quality, documentation, and adherence to all Association credit policy and procedure.
  • Actively involved in the departments oversight and management of the Association's delinquent loan servicing and loan restructuring activities, working with credit staff and legal counsel to identify and act on distressed loans. 
  • Performs other duties and assumes responsibilities as assigned.

LEVELS OF SUPERVISION, EXERCISED AND RECEIVED:

May indirectly supervise underwriter staff, providing guidance and training.  Makes independent decisions; works under general supervision Head of Credit Management.


TYPICAL EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • BA/BS degree with emphasis on business, economics, finance, agriculture or equivalent.
  • Ten years experience in the area of agricultural-related credit, including demonstrated experience in the analysis of large and complex credits. 
  • Demonstrated competencies required in credit underwriting, administration, and loan servicing, including a working knowledge of credit practices, production agriculture, credit principles and procedures; FCA regulation; and legal documentation requirements. 
  • Above average skills required in the following areas: organizing and planning, judgment, decisiveness, analysis, delegation and control, written and verbal communication, interpersonal skills, and adaptability.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in organizing and prioritizing work to meet deadlines.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in leading and motivating others.
  • Experience using Microsoft Office Suite including, Word, Excel and Outlook.   Ability to use software and information technology to collect, organizes, retrieve, maintain and disseminate information.  Ability to use technology in new or complex situations.
  • Ability to work with all levels of employees.

FULL-TIME REMOTE: These roles and job functions can be done remotely, while maintaining our strong commitment to customer service and our business goals. Employees are welcome to come to an office to work if needed, and some travel for team meetings will be required.

PAY RANGE:

Minimum $133,967.13 - Max $241,140.84 Annual

This range is reflective of the national salary average for this position and will be adjusted using geographic variance for physical location of the hired candidate. American AgCredit may compensate outside of the salary range for bona fide reasons not related to membership in a protected class.

  • Reflected is the national base pay range and title offered for this job at the current level.

  • Compensation, title, and job level may be adjusted based on candidate qualifications including but not limited to achievements, skills, experience, or work location.

  • Salary offered, within the applicable range, is one component of the total rewards package offered to candidates.
