Senior Data Analyst
Role summary
We’re seeking a Senior Data Analyst to define, own, and operationalize metrics and KPIs that measure the health, progress, quality, and business impact of our cloud migration program. This person will translate migration objectives into measurable outcomes, build reliable measurement pipelines and dashboards, and partner with engineering, finance, security, and product teams to drive data-driven decisions that reduce risk, control cost, and maximize business value from cloud migration.
Key responsibilities
- Define the KPI framework for cloud migration (strategy → measurable outcomes), including clear definitions, owners, data sources, SLAs, and alerting thresholds.
- Build and maintain dashboards and automated reports for engineering leadership, and program stakeholders.
- Instrument migration processes to capture quality, reliability, and performance signals (success/failure rate, rollback rate, downtime, restore times).
- Establish baseline metrics and measure delta changes against migration phases (per application, team, and workload).
- Monitor cloud spend and cost KPIs; analyze metrics and recommend optimization actions.
- Partner with cloud engineers to validate instrumentation, tagging, and telemetry needed to generate accurate metrics.
- Implement data quality best practices for migration metrics; perform regular audits and root-cause analyses of metric anomalies.
- Drive continuous improvement by proposing and tracking remediation actions; help prioritize migration work based on data.
- Communicate findings and insights clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders; produce executive summaries and deep-dive analyses as required.

- Time to migrate per workload (median, 90th percentile)
- Reliability & quality
- Migration success rate (first-pass success)
- Rollback rate and root-cause categories
- Post-migration incident frequency & severity (MTTR, number of P1/P2 incidents)
- Performance & user impact
- Pre-post performance change (latency, throughput) per workload
- Service Level Objective (SLO) compliance pre/post-migration
- Compliance & governance
- Asset tagging coverage and correctness
- Percentage of workloads meeting security & compliance checks before cutover
- Operational readiness
- Runbook/test coverage for migration events
