As a Sr Data Engineer within OH Care Delivery Technology's VBC Interoperability team, you will serve as a key liaison between business stakeholders, internal development teams, and data platform teams to ensure data integrity, appropriate roster/membership, plan validations across all Epic instances adherence for closing care gaps in our Risk and Quality point of care tools. Our team is focused on VBC EHR Integrations, IPA solutions, and Epic Integrations by designing and delivering seamless EHR, Care Gap integration solutions, intelligent automations, and workflow enhancements. In this telecommute role, you will lead complex systems analysis, evaluate emerging technological and AI trends, and design, develop, and deploy care gap point of care tools to address required CMS Risk and Quality care gap procedures are met for all delegated populations.
You'll enjoy the flexibility to work remotely * from anywhere within the U.S. as you take on some tough challenges. For all hires in the Minneapolis or Washington, D.C. area, you will be required to work in the office a minimum of four days per week.
Primary Responsibilities:
  • Establish and maintain relationships with key client stakeholders, Risk and Value Operations/Dyads, Care Gap point of care users and Data Lane representatives, internal EHR personnel, and development teams to position all parties for success
  • Foster innovation and coordinate with Epic, data teams, operations, to validate member attribution, roster management and feeding of care gaps both up and downstream with platforms within reasonable timelines (ex. ACOs, CMS or internal to Optum WellMed, GapRepo ,DataCORE, ECDH and others)
  • Design and execute EHR development tasks, environment strategy, objectives, and roadmap alignment in support of integration and development team goals with minimal disruption to care delivery operations
  • Liaise between and cross-collaborate among internal Epic teams to understand end-to-end native Epic clinical workflows and weigh against proposed workflows involving newly integrated applications
  • Conduct meetings and presentations to communicate information effectively to customers, business users, and technical staff
  • Prepare comprehensive documentation, including Business Requirements Documents (BRDs), Project tasks/plans for MSSP, ACO and adding other member populations to all Epic instances and their Risk/Quality point of care tools used for closing care gaps. Current/Future State Process Flow and Data Flow diagrams, and Product Roadmap illustrations
  • Develop measurements and reporting capabilities to detect internal problems before they result in user-visible outages or data quality issues

Required Qualifications:
  • 2+ years of experience in a healthcare environment working directly with business stakeholders and technical development teams ideally in the Risk or Quality workspace
  • 2+ years of Epic experience ideally with Epic certifications in Healthy Planet, Clarity, Caboodle and/or SQL
  • Hands-on experience with data/application integration methods and Epic data ingestion processes
  • Experience utilizing or implementing enterprise AI tools, automated workflow solutions, or intelligent systems to streamline business processes
  • Proven experience with clinical workflows, healthcare business processes and risk and quality workflows

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • 5+ years of healthcare business experience, including Provider Network Management, CMS guidelines/mandates, Payer-Provider relationships, HEDIS, or Member/Patient Risk Management
  • Adaptable self-starter with the initiative to learn and develop new technical skill sets
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented with a proven ability to prioritize workload and manage several projects concurrently
  • Proven ability to translate strategic initiatives into actions through a thoughtful, organized, and well-planned approach
  • Proven excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills
  • Demonstrated solid communication skills with a proven track record of initiating conversations with both business and technology leaders
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively work in a matrixed organization, aligning and developing solid relationships with internal teams and external partners

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). No matter where or when you begin a career with us, you'll find a far-reaching choice of benefits and incentives. The salary for this role will range from $91,700 - $163,700 annually based on full-time employment. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
