The Data Engineer plays a key role in enabling the development of data products throughout their lifecycle — from ingesting raw, ungoverned data with uncertain analytical value to leveraging well-governed sources already integrated into the company’s data lake. Data ingestion can occur through batch or streaming processing. This role requires strong technical expertise and a hands-on approach, with the ability to design and implement scalable, decoupled, and functional solutions. The Data Engineer collaborates closely with Data Scientists and ML Engineers to automate workflows and build robust, reliable data pipelines.
What to Expect + Responsibilities
Collect large volumes of diverse datasets
Collaborate with Data Scientists and ML Engineers to build robust, resilient data pipelines powering data products
Gather real-world model interaction data to enable ML model retraining
Contribute to the design, implementation, and production deployment of data ingestion components for the Data Lake
Promote a strong technical culture by applying MLOps best practices to data products
Design, implement, and maintain ETL pipelines
Continuously design, develop, and test data-driven solutions
Requirements
5+ years of experience as a Data Engineer
5+ years of experience with Python
Advanced SQL knowledge, including query optimization and performance tuning
Hands-on experience with GCP, especially BigQuery and other data processing services
Proven ability to design, optimize, and test scalable data architectures and pipelines
Experience working in UNIX environments, using Docker and CI/CD pipelines
Strong understanding of data structures and processing challenges
Familiarity with the full ML lifecycle, including rapid engineering and model retraining workflows
Advanced English (spoken and written)
Based in LATAM
Nice to Have
Experience with Terraform
Experience building scalable APIs
Ability to identify potential improvements, issues, and solutions in architectures
