You will play a key role in the design, development, and delivery of enterprise data and analytics solutions, and be responsible for providing technical and operational leadership across the full data lifecycle, including architecture, planning, development, configuration, maintenance, and ongoing support of data platforms and services.

Working within and enhancing established data and analytics architecture principles, guardrails, and design standards, you will ensure the reliability, scalability, and integrity of data solutions that support a large, complex organisation of 4,000+ staff.

A significant focus of this role is the extraction, integration, and optimisation of data to enable impactful insights—particularly in support of research initiatives and student-focused services. You will collaborate closely with stakeholders to understand data needs, improve access to high-quality data, and drive innovation across analytics capabilities.

Some of the key responsibilities of the position include:

  • Maintaining the relevant supporting artefacts and leading the periodical review of the IDS data and analytics vision and roadmap to ensure it is kept up to date and well understood by relevant stakeholders

  • Managing the provision of timely and effective advice and support to customers and stakeholders by identifying improvements to support services and providing technical expertise to enable customers to adopt new technologies and processes

  • Establishing and maintaining an agile based way of working to manage, refine, and prioritise the activity backlog based on relevant customer and IDS priorities.  Balancing the need to support day to day operations in a stable and reliable manner, with the need to undertake functional enhancements and new features for customers.

  • High level experience in data warehousing or business intelligence design, or the use of associated tools, or with processes of implementation.

  • Exceptional skills in leading a team to its full potential, including high level interpersonal and relationship management skills.
