Here, you'll be a part of a fast-growing company dedicated to providing a best in class leasing and customer service experience to our residents.

Amherst is looking for a Senior Product Manager to lead the vision and execution of our data product roadmap.  Leveraging platforms that span Databricks, Salesforce, Amherst’s own proprietary solutions and a growing set of AI/automation tools, this role will help establish data as a strategic, business-impacting product within the organization. This role reports to the VP, Product Management, and works closely with our Data Engineering and Analytics teams, business stakeholders, and technical partners to identify opportunities, prioritize initiatives, and deliver data solutions — including emerging AI-powered capabilities — that create real business value.

Who You Are:

  • Leadership. This role requires vision, leadership and collaboration to identify business-impacting opportunities leveraging our data platforms.
  • Intellectually Curious: You drive collaboration with business stakeholders to deeply understand pain points, and identify solutions to solve them.
  • Technically Fluent. You're comfortable in conversations with data engineers and analysts, and can translate messy business problems into clear data and technical requirements.
  • Agile: You embrace agility within fast-moving organization, while not compromising the products overall vision.
  • Self-starting: You learn fast, tackle tasks without being explicitly directed and are open to feedback.
  • Team Player. You put team success first and have a high degree of personal character.

What You'll Do:

  • Own the vision, roadmap and lifecycle of data products for our data engineering and analytics teams, balancing strategic initiatives against day-to-day business demand.
  • Champion “data as a product” thinking — helping the organization treat data assets with the same rigor, ownership, and quality bar as customer-facing products.
  • Partner closely with business stakeholders across the organization to identify data needs and opportunities that directly impact company KPIs.
  • Translate business requirements into epics, user stories, and acceptance criteria that data and analytics teams can plan and execute against.
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with technical teams (data engineering, analytics engineering, and platform) to keep the roadmap realistic and well-sequenced.
  • Identify and help scope opportunities to apply AI and modern data tooling to internal business problems, partnering with engineering to pilot and validate new capabilities.
  • Run agile ceremonies and manage the backlog for data-focused scrum teams, tracking velocity and delivery to keep stakeholders informed.
  • Prepare and present roadmap updates, business cases, and project status to leadership and business partners.

What You'll Bring:

  • 5+ years in product management, ideally with exposure to data platforms, analytics, or data engineering.
  • Experience partnering with both business stakeholders and technical/engineering teams to prioritize and deliver a roadmap.
  • Familiarity with modern cloud data platforms and tooling (e.g., Databricks, Snowflake, or similar) is a strong plus.
  • Exposure to AI or machine learning-powered product initiatives is a plus.
  • Worked in an agile delivery organization; comfortable with product management tools such as Jira, Confluence, or similar.
  • Ability to analyze business and/or technical problems to guide data and software development.
  • Ability to build strong relationships with key business stakeholders.
  • Detail-oriented and self-sufficient.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and research skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; comfortable presenting to senior leadership.
  • Creative, innovative, and exploratory skills and mindset.
  • A proactive, flexible, hungry-to-learn attitude.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, rapidly growing environment.
  • Preferred experience working in the real estate industry.

Our full-time employee benefits include:

  • A competitive compensation package, annual bonus, 401k match

  • Flexible PTO including 7 paid holidays, 1 floating holiday, and 1 volunteer day

  • Employer-paid benefits (medical, dental, vision, health savings account)

  • Professional career development and reimbursement

  • Up to 16 weeks paid maternity leave; up to 4 weeks of paid parental leave

  • Backup childcare offered through Bright Horizons
