About the Role

The Senior Data Scientist will be allowed to work remotely, will report to headquarters of HDVI in Chicago, IL. They will develop and implement a set of techniques or analytics applications to transform raw data into meaningful information using data-oriented programming languages and visualization software. Additionally, this position will apply data mining, data modeling, natural language processing, and machine learning to extract and analyze information from large structured and unstructured datasets, as well as visualize, interpret, and report data findings.

What You'll Do

  • Gather, analyze, document, and translate business requirements into data models and supported standardization of documentation and adoption of standards and best practices related to data
  • Perform data cleansing, data wrangling, data processing, feature engineering, and data profiling using Python Pandas, Numpy, PySpark, and Palantir
  • Conduct Exploratory Data Analysis to uncover underlying patterns, test business assumptions, generate hypotheses for further analysis using Python PySpark, Matplotlib, Seaborn, MongoDB Charts, and Palantir
  • Design, develop, and validate predictive models with different sources of data using Python Scikit-learn, Statsmodels, and Akur8;
  • Design, build and automate data pipelines to implement analytical and predictive models using Python Pandas, Numpy, PyMongo, Bash scripts, and Airflow
  • Write complex NoSQL queries to retrieve data in MongoDB and perform further analysis to pinpoint data quality issues and solve business problems

What You Have

  • Bachelors in Data science, analytics, business administration (with a concentration of Business Analytics or Business Technologies) or a related field
  • Two years of experience as an Analyst
  • Experience in Data Analysis and building predictive models, performing tasks such as merging, cleaning, processing, and regularizing data; and data analysis software, including Python Pandas, Python, Numpy, Matplotlib and Scikit-learn
