Overview: The Senior Database Administrator is responsible for managing, maintaining, and optimizing enterprise-level databases to ensure high availability, security, and performance. This role involves advanced technical expertise, strategic planning, and leadership in database operations.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Administer the production database operations of CCS’s proprietary systems, ensuring schedules are met and system resources are used effectively.
  • Manage and maintain Databricks workspaces, clusters, jobs, and user permissions to ensure stable and efficient operations.
  • Troubleshoot database and Databricks production-related issues and coordinate their successful resolution.
  • Implement database and Databricks performance tuning, monitoring, and optimization techniques.
  • Ensure database and Databricks production high availability, capacity management, and resource utilization optimization.
  • Support database and Databricks incident management response and restoration of services activities.
  • Support problem management through root cause analysis and implementation of permanent fixes across both SQL Server and Databricks environments.
  • Collaborate with data engineering teams to manage ADF pipelines, data ingestion, and integration processes within Databricks.
  • Maintain compliance with CCS’s policies, procedures, and mission statement.
  • Adhere to all confidentiality and HIPAA requirements as outlined within CCS’s Operating Policies and Procedures at all times with respect to any aspect of the data handled or services rendered.
  • Fulfill those responsibilities and/or duties that may be reasonably provided by CCS for the purpose of achieving operational and financial success of the Company.
  • Uphold responsibilities relative to the separation of duties for applicable processes and procedures within your job function.

Job Requirements:

  • 3+ three years of experience in the job offered; or
  • 3+ years of experience as a Project Manager or a related role; and
  • Proven experience in troubleshooting and resolving database and Databricks platform issues.
  • Strong expertise in Performance Tuning and Optimization (PTO) using native monitoring and troubleshooting tools.
  • Experience with indexes, index management, and statistics.
  • Skilled in backups, restores, and recovery models.
  • Strong proficiency in SQL and T-SQL query development in a SQL Server environment.
  • Hands-on experience administering Azure Databricks, including cluster configuration, job scheduling, workspace management, and integration with Azure Data Factory and Data Lake.
  • Familiarity with monitoring and securing Databricks resources, managing libraries, and automating deployments via CI/CD pipelines.
  • Understanding of data governance, data lineage, and compliance best practices across both SQL Server and Databricks ecosystems.;

Education:

  • Master’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field of study;
  • In lieu of a Master’s degree plus three years of experience, Employer is willing to accept a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related plus at least five years of experience in the job offered or five years of experience as a Project Manager or a related role.

Physical Demands and Work Environment:

  • Sedentary work (i.e., sitting for long periods of time);
  • Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force;
  • Frequently or constantly to lift, carry push, pull or otherwise move objects and repetitive motions;
  • Subject to inside environmental conditions; and
  • Travel for this position will include less than 5% locally usually for training purposes.

In addition to the base compensation, this position may be eligible for performance-based incentives.

The actual base pay offered may vary depending on multiple factors including, but not limited to, job-related knowledge/skills, experience, business needs, geographical location, and internal equity.  At ComplexCare Solutions, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top end of the range for their role, and compensation decisions are dependent upon the facts and circumstances of each position and candidate.

Base Compensation Range
$112,600$140,700 USD
