About Us

Sequen AI is leading the charge in building frontier ranking models for search and recommendations. Our technology specializes in shaping end-user behavior for the world’s largest consumer enterprises.

We are a small, highly technical, early-stage team focused on turning recent advances in AI into production-grade systems that operate under unforgiving real-world constraints. The problems we work on are deeply open-ended, where minor optimizations in algorithmic multi-stage retrieval and model routing translate directly into millions of dollars in client revenue.

About the Role

We’re looking for a Senior Deployment Strategist to work closely with our customers as they adopt and deploy Sequen AI. This role sits at the intersection of engineering, product, and go-to-market. You’ll work directly with customers who are building with our technology—helping them translate intent into working systems, and ensuring they’re able to get meaningful, sustained value.

This is not a traditional account management role. At this stage, it’s closer to a blend of technical advisor, product partner, and operator, where the quality of your judgment will matter as much as your execution.

Key ResponsibilitiesHigh-Touch Client Strategic Partnership
  • White-Glove Communication: Work closely with customers, providing first-in-class, white-glove communication.

  • Understand Client Topology: Develop a deep understanding of customer goals, systems, and constraints.

  • Trusted Workflow Advisory: Act as a trusted partner as they design and deploy AI-powered workflows.

  • Production Stabilization: Help customers move from initial experimentation to reliable production use.

Deep Technical Execution & Enablement
  • API Integration Support: Support customers integrating with Sequen’s API systems.

  • Systems Architecture Advisory: Provide guidance on system design, prompting strategies, and performance trade-offs.

  • Hands-on Diagnostics: Help diagnose issues and unblock adoption in practical, hands-on ways.

  • Technical Implementation: Guide technical implementation and usage across enterprise infrastructures.

Cross-Functional Product Evolution
  • Voice of the Customer: Be an advocate for the customer and translate customer needs back to the product team.

  • Pattern Identification: Identify patterns across customer usage and challenges.

  • Grounding Roadmaps: Communicate feedback to product and engineering teams to ensure what we build is grounded in real-world use.

Long-Term Customer Success & Expansion
  • End-to-End Ownership: Take ownership of customer outcomes and drive long-term customer success.

  • Organic Growth Discovery: Identify expansion opportunities and grow Sequen's digital footprint.

  • Stakeholder Management: Maintain strong relationships with both technical and business stakeholders.

Qualifications
  • Experience: 7–10+ years of experience in Deployment Engineering, Technical Program Management, Solutions Engineering, Technical Account Management, or a similar role.

  • API Fluency: Experience working with APIs or developer-facing platforms.

  • Systems Core: Strong technical foundation with a clear understanding of system architecture and integrations.

  • Data Literacy: Ability to articulate analytics concepts like A/B testing.

  • Stakeholder Engagement: Proven ability to engage and build trust with both low-level engineers and business executives.

  • Adoption Track Record: Demonstrated track record of driving software adoption, usage, and measurable customer success.

  • Cross-Functional Nature: Experience working cross-functionally with product, engineering, and go-to-market teams.

Preferred Skills
  • Domain Expertise: Experience working with AI/ML systems, Large Language Models (LLMs), or large-scale data platforms.

  • Industry Vertical Coverage: Exposure to consumer-facing integrations, particularly within retail, travel, or media/entertainment sectors.

  • Startup Mindset: Proven track record in fast-growing startups or early-stage, fast-moving environments.

  • Cloud Infrastructure: Familiarity with modern cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, or Azure.

What We Value
  • Rigorous Systems & Scientific Thinking: You balance algorithmic complexity with microsecond runtime latency constraints. You choose the right mathematical model for the client's current data maturity, prioritizing real-world conversion metrics over theoretical vanity scores.

  • Uncompromising Ownership: You treat production stability and client performance as a personal reflection of code quality, taking pride in driving use cases end-to-end from feature engineering to live inference scoring.

  • Pragmatic Speed: You possess the startup velocity to design, deploy, and validate robust revenue-generating prototypes quickly without accumulating debilitating technical debt.

  • Strategic Relationship Building: You can speak fluently with both deep research scientists and cross-functional enterprise executives, proactively identifying new technical opportunities to unlock additional client value throughout the lifecycle of an engagement.

Why This Role?

At this stage, a small number of customer relationships can meaningfully shape the trajectory of Sequen. This role is an opportunity to work directly with early clients, influence product direction, and help define how AI systems are deployed in real-world environments.
