About the role and why it’s unique:

The Senior Director, Brand Design will drive and oversee the development and execution of all Underdog Brand Design design efforts across various marketing channels. You are a visionary creative leader with experience, impeccable craft, and confidence to set a bold direction. You will work closely with cross-functional teams including marketing, product, content, and external agency partners to ensure our look & feel is distinct, consistent and persuasive. This role requires a blend of exceptional creativity, strategic thinking, and leadership to ensure the Underdog brand resonates with our audience and positions us a leader in the category. This role requires a deep understanding of our category, customer psychology, marketing strategies, and the ability to inspire/lead your team to create exceptional creative.

  • Drive the development of the Underdog Brand to be recognized as the leader in the category.
  • Develop and maintain a world-class brand identity across all marketing channels, ensuring consistency
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of designers, providing feedback and guidance to enhance their skills and creativity.
  • Develop and maintain the Underdog Brand to ensure consistency and creative excellence across all platforms.
  • Collaborate with marketing, design, promotion, content and product teams to ensure all design and creative elements create an optimal experience across our platforms
  • Analyze audience insights to inform design direction and strategy.
  • Work closely with other team leads to drive creative excellence.
  • Work with creative management to address performance, workflow, and quality issues.
  • Work closely with marketing team to assess the impact of creative campaigns, leveraging data and analytics to optimize design to maximize impact.
  • Manage relationships with external agencies, fostering collaboration and creative excellence.
Who you are:
  • 12+ years of agency or in-house creative experience with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
  • Master of your craft and a track record of building brands through exceptional creative work.
  • Deep agency-side or brand side experience working with or at global brands.
  • Proven ability to define and own brand design direction for innovative, category-defining products.
  • Thought leader of highly successful creative, brand development, and multichannel marketing campaigns.
  • Portfolio packed with work that has driven outsized business results and won recognition in the industry.
  • Excellent people leader with proven ability to manage teams, the work, and influence outcomes with multiple stakeholders.
  • Strong executive presence with highly verbal communication skills including the ability to present with impact.
  • Ability to initiate and drive opportunities independently across multiple complex projects that have strategic implications for the brand and company, while operating in an environment that changes quickly.


Our target starting base salary range for this position is between $210,000 and $250,000, plus target equity. The starting base salary will depend on a number of factors including the candidate’s skills and experience, among other things.
