Job Description:

The Senior Director of Business Development at Mars Snacking is a key leader in defining and executing Mars Snacking’s long-term inorganic strategy. Working closely with the SVP of Business Development and interacting with the Mars Snacking Leadership Team, Mars Corporate colleagues, and other Mars functions, this person will leverage their deep understanding of strategy development to identify potential acquisitions, partnerships, joint ventures, and divestiture opportunities to drive growth and optimization of the Mars Snacking portfolio.  This role has no direct reports. However, the role is a critical position supporting the SVP of Business Development by independently leading the execution of strategic projects, including leading Mars teams assigned to such projects.

What are we looking for?

  • Minimum of a Bachelors degree. MBA preferred
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in external or in-house consulting, investment banking or other relevant finance or strategy role
  • Strategic mindset with significant experience developing and executing strategic frameworks
  • Strong project management skills
  • Strong analytical and modeling skills
  • Excellent financial acumen
  • Demonstrated understanding and knowledge of the M&A environment and ideally of the categories in which Mars operates (CPG and services);
  • Strong communication skills (verbal and written, up down and across the organization)
  • Able to travel (minimum 20%)

What will be your key responsibilities?

  • Together with the Mars Snacking Leadership Team, Corporate Development, and other key functions, Business Development will define and execute the implementation of Mars Snacking’s inorganic strategy
  • This role supports the SVP of Business Development by independently leading the ideation, development, and execution of strategic inorganic projects, following governance processes and working closely with the Corporate Development team
  • Together with other senior members of Mars Snacking, help lead the thinking for our inorganic strategic priorities across, geographies, divisions, and brands
  • For live transactions, lead the development of the business case and projections, quantifying the opportunity that Mars Snacking will ultimately be responsible to deliver, as well as supporting ongoing due diligence efforts
  • Partners with the SVP of Business Development to build and maintain a global network of contacts with up-and-coming new entrants to key Snacking categories as well as established players that may become future partners or acquisition targets
  • Develop seamless connectivity across multiple Mars functions to ensure we are delivering best in class support and strategic advice to key stakeholders
  • Contribute to the formal trainings for the team; and Participate to the recruiting efforts of the team

The base pay range for this position at commencement of employment is between the range listed below, however, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including but not limited to job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position will include variable pay, medical and dental benefits, participation in 401k plan, and paid time off benefits. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an applicant receives an offer of employment.

The pay range shown is applicable to all US locations listed within the job posting:USD 192,560.00 - USD 264,770.00
