You'll lead both the engineering and data operations teams responsible for designing, building, and launching data & software products that onboard, process, and manage healthcare reference data.
You will lead a mixed team of engineering and data operations professionals, serving as the strategic and technical expert who defines the platform's future scalability through sound architecture and technical guidance. This involves overseeing the data platform's lifecycle: from acquiring data (government, professional, and web sources) and ensuring its curation and quality, to providing the technical vision for the enterprise software platform. What You'll Do
- Lead a unified team encompassing both Engineering and Data Operations
- Serve as a hands-on technical leader who can help build and design the platform alongside the team
- Own the architecture, build, and delivery of a new software platform on AWS, encompassing all elements: data source ingestion, data pipeline, curation/standardization, data governance, and overall platform architecture
- Drive technical decisions and design, translating complex data source requirements and product vision into sound technical architecture
- Oversee and optimize data operations activities, including data acquisition, cleansing, standardization, and quality checking processes to maintain high-quality HCP/HCO profiles and affiliations
- Develop and implement data management policies and procedures to ensure data integrity, security, access, and compliance
- Collaborate closely with Product Management, QA, and other cross-functional R&D teams to manage priorities, backlogs, and deliver quality releases on time
- Provide leadership, guidance, and mentorship to foster a culture of technical excellence, collaboration, and quality within the team
Requirements
- 5+ years leading engineering teams, tech leads, and managers
- 5+ years of experience working on large-scale enterprise data products or platforms
- Experience driving the adoption of new data tools and cultural shifts within a large organization
- Proven experience in architecting and delivering Big Data solutions in a fully managed cloud data warehouse
- Experience in driving technical architecture decisions and owning the full development process for external-facing, scalable data products
- Deep expertise in data governance principles, data modeling, data warehousing, and ETL/ELT processes
- Strong experience with the acquisition, curation, and management of complex data sources, particularly involving healthcare or governmental data
- Experience hiring, developing, and leading high-performing engineers and analysts
- Experience driving the adoption of new data tools and cultural shifts within a large organization
- Experience building and managing products in an Agile environment
Nice to Have
- Strong experience with the acquisition, curation, and management of complex data sources, particularly involving healthcare or governmental data
- Deep experience with healthcare reference data or healthcare data in general
