Autodesk is looking for a Senior Director, Events & Experiences to lead Autodesk’s vision for the future of our brand experiences. This person will shape the global event strategy, develop roadmaps and create innovative experiences in-person and online that drive business results. This future event leader will have expertise in digital marketing - as well as a proven track record in leading global strategies and operations and the associated financial rigor needed. This executive will be a strong people leader who can cultivate and grow the internal team while managing relationships with key business customers, partners and vendors. This is a deeply collaborative job working with leaders across the company in both business units and corporate functions.
This person will focus on driving our flagship events (Autodesk University, One Team Conference and TechX).  In addition, s/he will lead the strategy to evolve our approach to these events by crafting a best-in-class hybrid operating model, and implementing an event portfolio model globally for events in key markets.  Finally, this person will lead our efforts to redefine brand experiences that help tell the Autodesk brand story to our customers, partners and employees, though touchpoints like our Gallery, our Customer Briefing Program, our Design Night program, and others we have yet to explore.
Responsibilities

  • Reinvent how we approach and create world-class hybrid experiences so that we continue to build affinity and consideration with our customers (external events) and excitement and connectedness with our employees (internal events)
  • Craft clear content strategy and production efforts that both drive key business narratives and fuel digital marketing channels all year round
  • Develop a vision around a global to regional event portfolio and operational model
  • Partner with executives, finance and marketing collaborators (e.g., campaign, demand generation, communications and social media) to budget, plan and implement end-to-end experiences
  • Evolve operational and organizational models in line with strategy
  • Break down silos and shift ways of working that promote strong cross collaboration with internal partners

Requirements

  • 10+ years of B2B and B2C event strategy and production experience at scale; experience with product/user conferences a plus
  • Proactive, loves designing experiences and cares deeply about our Company and brand
  • Strong business insight and the ability to see the business impact beyond the details of planning
  • Comfortable knowledge of digital marketing channels
  • Strong influencing and interpersonal skills, with an ability to develop strong relationships and communicate at all levels
  • A track record of recruiting and retaining talent and an eye for innovative production
  • Ability to make decisions and recommendations without having all details finalized
  • Experience pushing the barriers of creating hybrid events that engages in-person and virtually
  • Strong people leadership to continue to grow talent, empower teams and organize employees around strengths and growth opportunities
  • Proven leadership in supervising and leading multiple work streams concurrently with operational rigor around timelines, key deliverables and budget
