Press Ganey's Strategic Consulting team partners with healthcare clients to overcome their biggest challenges. To listen smarter, act faster, and give their teams the tools and skills they need to improve Human Experience, and stay ahead of what’s next.

We are seeking a seasoned, strategic senior level leader to own and evolve our proposal development, consulting project budgeting/oversight, and business process governance. This Senior Director will serve as the central authority for operational tooling, process automation, and delivery performance visibility, while partnering closely with Consulting & Advisory teams. This role is critical to accelerating our growth by establishing operational excellence, improving cross functional consistency, and maximizing the effectiveness of staff.

Duties and Responsibilities

Project Budgeting, Proposals & Financial Leadership

  • Develop and maintain SOPs for business operations and project financial governance.
  • Support creation of, review, approve, and refine proposals, project budgets, pricing structures, and financial models for consulting services.
  • Create scalable frameworks and templates that enable operational staff to work more efficiently and with greater autonomy.

Business Process Ownership & Automation

  • Own core operational processes across the business, identifying opportunities for standardization, automation, and efficiency improvements.
  • Enhance user experience for critical tools, including Kantata (professional services automation platform) and Salesforce to enable visibility and accountability for project and service line performance, and enhance forecasting, capacity planning, and financial tracking.
  • Partner to build and optimize capacity/forecasting, project set‑up, deliverable tracking—while ensuring alignment with broader organizational standards.

Leadership & Team Development

  • Partner with senior leadership to design and implement scalable operational strategies that support continued growth (e.g., new consultant onboarding; practice area training/cross-training).
  • Mentor and develop operational staff, ensuring they have clear frameworks to deliver high‑quality work.
  • Act as a senior advisor on operational maturity, identifying long‑term improvements in project governance, forecasting, and financial rigor.

Location: The Senior Director role can be fully remote within the United States or, for team members located near one of our hub offices in Chicago, South Bend, or Boston, work onsite three days a week (Tuesday–Thursday) and work from home the remaining days.

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of experience in consulting/business operations, project finance, PMO leadership, or a similar function (combination of consulting plus professional/managed services/SaaS preferred).
  • Deep expertise in project management, budgeting, forecasting, and financial model development.
  • Experience drafting and approving proposals, ensuring all assigned proposals are reviewed prior to client delivery.
  • Healthcare industry experience highly preferred.
  • Strong proficiency with professional services automation tools; experience with Kantata is highly preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to build processes, automate workflows, and drive operational change across cross‑functional teams.
  • Proven success supervising or mentoring team members and scaling processes in a growth environment.
  • Excellent analytical, strategic thinking, communication, and stakeholder management skills.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in business or related field; Master’s preferred

The expected base salary for this position ranges from $127,000 - $165,000. It is not typical for offers to be made at or near the top of the range. Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including relevant skills, training, experience, education, and, where applicable, licensure or certifications obtained. Market and organizational factors are also considered. In addition to base salary and a competitive benefits package, successful candidates are eligible to receive a discretionary bonus or commission tied to achieved results.
