About You

We’re looking for someone who has:

  • B.S. or M.S. in Electrical Engineering
  • Minimum of 10 years of electrical design experience serving manufacturing and industrial clients.
  • P.E. license with education experience necessary to obtain licensure in other states by reciprocity.
  • Experience in electrical design for facility and infrastructure projects. Experience shall include design of power, lighting, grounding and lightning protection, security and access control systems, telecommunication and data systems, control systems for building equipment, and fire alarm systems.
  • In-depth knowledge of design and application of power distribution equipment, protection, and control systems required for large industrial projects.
  • Comprehensive understanding of national electrical code, energy codes and standards applicable to large industrial power equipment and systems.
  • Strong team player with experience in leading multi-discipline projects and effectively coordinating with other team members throughout design.
  • Exceptional communicator with strong presentation, verbal, and writing skills; role includes direct client engagement.
  • Proficient in executing design utilizing REVIT to create 3D models and the use of models during construction.
  • Proficient in the use of Bluebeam for drawing review, drawing mark-up, and sketch development for design development.
  • Experience with lighting calculation software such as AGI-32, ElumTools and/or Visual.
  • Experience with power system analysis software to perform short circuit analysis, load flow analysis, motor starting analysis, protective device coordination, and arc flash hazard analysis.
  • Strong focus on continuous improvement of self and design approach with focus on skills development and development of new tools and practices to automate design.

 Desirable Skills that are a “Plus”:

  • Experience using ETAP is preferred.
  • Strong knowledge in the use of Microsoft Excel to develop advanced spreadsheets for design calculations and other tools for project monitoring and control is preferred
  • Experience in management role providing direct supervision of staff with responsibility for recruiting and hiring, resource loading for projects, and staff training and development is preferred
  • Experience delivering instrumentation and control (I&C) systems for complex industrial process projects and the development of PI&Ds.
  • Digitally curious and comfortable diving in and leading or working with coding and automation
    • Design automation skills, including the application of parametric design tools such as Dynamo and Grasshopper
    • Software Coding -especially with Python, and/or C#
    • Working with Revit’s API
    • Power BI for data visualization

About the Role

As a Senior Electrical Engineer, you will:

  • Assists in business development by reviewing RFPs, participating in client interviews, networking with clients, and developing scope of services and design approach for proposals, and estimating labor hours and fees for projects.
  • Serves as Engineer of Record performing design of electrical systems and equipment. Provides leadership and mentorship and assigns tasks to other engineers and designers
  • Provides technical direction to project teams via applying knowledge of codes and standards, analyzing in interpreting clients’ needs and requirements, and collaborating with others to identify, define, and solve design issues.
  • Serves as discipline point of contact with client, contractors, equipment suppliers, consultants, review agencies, and other disciplines throughout design and construction on projects. Capable of leading multiple small to mid-size projects simultaneously or leading multiple teams on large complex projects. 
  • Responsible for oversight of construction phase services by providing responses to RFIs, review of shop drawing submittals, coordination with client and vendors for early equipment purchases, and visiting construction sites to conduct site inspections to verify compliance with design deliverables.
  • Responsible for budget compliance, schedule compliance, and change management on projects.
  • Responsible for writing construction specifications for electrical and development of early release packages for purchase of equipment.
  • Responsible for quality of electrical deliverables. Conducts quality and constructability reviews throughout project.
  • Assist with development of training, standards, and improvements in application of technology to electrical design practices
