Your role at Baxter

The Senior Engineer in Global Services plays a critical role in enabling successful product launches and sustained lifecycle performance by leading Service Design for assigned products. This role applies engineering expertise alongside systems thinking, business acumen, and cross‑functional coordination to ensure that products, product-specific processes, and supporting service capabilities are developed holistically and meet defined technical, operational, and commercial objectives. The Senior Engineer represents the collective needs of global service cross‑functions - including operations, supply chain, customer support, quality, and commercial stakeholders within defined product teams - and makes informed, balanced decisions on their behalf. The role requires a high degree of independence and technical leadership within a product-focused scope.

What You'll Do:

  • Lead service design for assigned products, ensuring serviceability, scalability, cost‑effectiveness, and alignment with business and platform strategies across the product lifecycle.
  • Define and integrate product‑level service requirements into product architecture, development processes, and launch readiness activities.
  • Conduct serviceability assessments and deliver clear, actionable recommendations to product development and engineering teams.
  • Serve as the primary service representative on product core teams, advocating for cross‑functional service needs and making balanced, informed decisions.
  • Coordinate alignment and information flow between corporate product teams and regional service organizations to support successful execution.
  • Analyze service performance metrics to identify risks, gaps, and improvement opportunities; lead CAPA efforts using structured root‑cause analysis.
  • Independently plan and lead complex service‑related engineering initiatives, providing technical guidance, mentorship, and oversight as needed.

What You'll Bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a core engineering discipline with 3+ years of progressive engineering experience.
  • Strong engineering foundation in one or more core disciplines (mechanical, electrical, software, systems, manufacturing, or process engineering).
  • Proven ability to work independently and influence cross‑functional product teams without direct authority.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills with strong organizational effectiveness.
  • Demonstrated capability to analyze ambiguous problems, apply sound judgment, and make data‑driven product‑level decisions.
  • Solid understanding of GMP, quality systems, and regulated product development environments.
  • Experience with service engineering, service design, or product lifecycle management preferred, including familiarity with change control and design/configuration management.
  • Lean / Six Sigma training or applied continuous improvement experience preferred.
