As the Senior Engineering Manager, you will lead by being a highly technical leader who delivers high business impact on projects of increasing dependencies and ambiguity.
You will lead a team of individual contributors in the development of technology that saves lives and improves mental and physical health for millions of people.

Primary Duties:
- Build a high performing team by hiring and nurturing engineering talent.
- Strong technical leadership - drive technical solutioning and building roadmaps.
- Set aggressive and clear goals and remove all roadblocks for the team to achieve them.
- Working seamlessly and collaboratively with stakeholders across Aledade to achieve business outcomes.
- Work closely with engineering leaders to drive engineering excellence in our processes and systems.
Minimum Qualifications:
- BS/BTech (or higher) in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field required.
- 10+ years of production-level experience as an engineer and technical lead building highly scalable and reliable software.
- 5+ years of managerial experience building and leading technical engineering teams.

- You have experience in attracting, hiring, and coaching world-class engineers including performance management.
- You have experience in taking ownership of the technology decisions, while delegating and empowering team members.
- You have experience communicating analysis and establishing confidence among audiences who do not share your disciplinary background or training.
- You have strong communication and relationship building skills, with experience influencing and aligning multiple stakeholders.
- Passion for healthcare: A genuine interest in improving healthcare through technology is a strong motivator.
- Understanding of the healthcare industry.
- Familiarity with healthcare delivery models (e.g., fee-for-service, value-based care).
- Knowledge of common healthcare regulations (e.g., HIPAA).
- Awareness of current healthcare trends and challenges (e.g., telehealth, remote patient monitoring).
- Strategic Vision. You have experience crafting and executing a strategic vision for the team. You have connected day-to-day tactics to long-term strategy, ensuring that the team's output aligns with our business goals.
- Excellent problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills.
- Leadership Experience. You have led engineering teams in past roles, demonstrating an ability to mentor, inspire, and drive technical excellence.
- Collaboration: Work effectively with cross-functional teams (product, design, data, etc).
- Ability to use data to inform engineering roadmaps and resource allocation.
- Planning Prowess. Your background includes translating business objectives into technological roadmaps, aligning short-term actions with long-term strategic goals, and effectively communicating these plans to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Solid understanding of Agile principles and frameworks (e.g., Scrum, Kanban). This includes familiarity with core concepts like user stories, sprints, backlog refinement, and retrospectives. Bonus: Certified scrum master.
- 5+ years experience building and managing full stack and complex front end applications built using modern web technologies (eg: JavaScript, React, Angular, VueJs, Node.js, HTML5, CSS3, Java, Python, Scala, C#, C++,Go, JVM). Vue and Python preferred.
- Experience designing and implementing secure, scalable, and maintainable platform architectures. This includes knowledge of distributed systems, microservices, and containerization technologies like Docker and Kubernetes.
- Experience with cloud based technologies such as AWS, Azure or google cloud.
- Proven experience leading the design, development, and deployment of robust front-end platforms for web applications.
- Ability to prioritize platform features that meet the business needs while maintaining security, scalability, and performance.
- (Preferred) Startup experience: Understanding of the fast-paced, dynamic environment of a startup is highly valuable.
