Job Summary:

Acrisure is seeking a Senior Analyst, Federal and State Tax to join our growing team in Chicago.  The role will be a key member of the tax team, responsible for driving U.S. federal and state tax compliance, supporting the quarterly and annual tax provision process, managing audits, and assisting in strategic tax planning. This role offers the opportunity to work directly with the Tax Director, Tax Managers and senior finance leadership, gaining exposure to complex cross-border tax issues within a rapidly scaling fintech environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and review federal and state corporate income/franchise tax returns, extensions, estimated tax payments and related supporting documentation.

  • Assist with preparation and review of quarterly and annual tax provision calculations under ASC 740, including related tax footnote disclosures.

  • Coordinate with external tax advisors to ensure timely and accurate preparation of tax compliance.

  • Research tax issues and prepare draft technical memos.

  • Assist with gathering information and drafting responses to tax notices received from the IRS and state/local tax jurisdictions.  

  • Track and organize correspondence received from tax authorities.

  • Maintain tax compliance calendar and ensure timely filings.

  • Assist with improvements in tax processes, systems, and controls to enhance efficiency and accuracy.

  • Collaborate cross-functionally with accounting and finance teams globally to ensure tax compliance and alignment with business objectives.

Education and Experience:

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.

  • 4+ years of progressive U.S. federal and state tax experience, ideally from a mix of Big 4/public accounting and in-house corporate tax roles.

  • Strong technical knowledge of U.S. federal and state corporate income/franchise tax rules.

  • Proficiency in ASC 740, Accounting for Income Taxes.

  • Experience with tax compliance and provision software (e.g., OneSource, Corptax, Alteryx, or similar) preferred.

Pay Details:

The base compensation range for this position is $86,000 - $117,000. This range reflects Acrisure's good faith estimate at the time of this posting. Placement within the range will be based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to skills, experience, qualifications, location, and internal equity.

Candidates should be comfortable with an on-site presence to support collaboration, team leadership, and cross-functional partnership.
