Build the Finance Function of the Future

We're looking for a hands-on finance leader who wants to do more than close the books.

We believe AI and automation should fundamentally change how finance operates. Rather than growing our finance team through headcount, we're investing in systems, automation, and better processes.

If you're excited about combining strong accounting fundamentals with modern finance technology and AI, we'd love to meet you.

This role reports directly to the SVP, Strategic Finance & Ops and offers a unique opportunity to build a scalable finance function that can support the company's next stage of growth.

The Opportunity

You'll begin by taking ownership of our accounting operations alongside our current part-time Accounting Manager, who will remain through the transition. Once you've established a solid understanding of the business, your focus will shift toward simplifying, automating, and modernizing our finance operations.

We've already implemented Rillet and are looking for someone who can maximize its capabilities while continuously identifying opportunities to eliminate manual work across finance.

Our goal isn't simply to maintain accounting—we want to build an AI-first finance organization.

What You'll OwnAccounting & Financial Operations
  • Own the monthly, quarterly, and annual close
  • Manage the general ledger, reconciliations, accruals, and financial reporting
  • Ensure GAAP compliance and maintain strong internal controls
  • Coordinate and own annual audits and external accounting relationships
  • Transition responsibilities from the current Accounting Manager
Finance Automation & AI
  • Optimize and expand our use of Rillet
  • Identify opportunities to automate repetitive accounting and reporting processes
  • Improve integrations across accounting, payroll, banking, billing, and other business systems
  • Reduce close timelines while improving accuracy and visibility
  • Evaluate and implement practical AI solutions that create measurable business value
FP&A & Business Insights
  • Own the financial model and help with scenario planning
  • Support budgeting and forecasting
  • Build KPI dashboards and recurring financial reporting
  • Perform variance analysis and communicate key business trends
  • Partner with department leaders to improve financial decision-making

What Success Looks Like

Within your first year, you will have:

  • Reduced manual accounting work through automation
  • Improved the speed and quality of the monthly close
  • Built reliable reporting and KPI dashboards for leadership
  • Increased our use of AI and automation across finance
  • Created scalable processes that support future growth without unnecessary headcount
  • Developed a deep understanding of the business and the key drivers behind the financial model

We're Looking For Someone Who...

  • Has 6–10 years of progressive accounting and finance experience
  • Has experience owning or leading the monthly close
  • Has a strong understanding of U.S. GAAP and financial reporting
  • Enjoys improving systems and eliminating manual work
  • Is naturally curious about AI, automation, and modern finance technology
  • Is comfortable rolling up their sleeves in a lean, fast-moving environment
  • Can balance attention to detail with strategic thinking

CPA is preferred but not required.

Experience in AI, SaaS, venture-backed startups, or high-growth companies is a plus.

Experience implementing or optimizing finance systems is highly valued.

Why Join Us?

This isn't a traditional accounting role.

You'll help define how finance should operate in an AI-native company. You'll have significant ownership, direct exposure to executive leadership, and the opportunity to build systems that scale as the business grows.

We're looking for someone who wants to become a future Controller or Head of Finance—not by managing a large team, but by building a smarter one.

If you're energized by solving problems, leveraging technology, and creating leverage through automation, we'd love to hear from you.
