Job Description

External Manufacturing Finance supports the AbbVie Operations External Manufacturing organization by providing comprehensive financial planning and reporting. The team oversees financial activities related to third-party manufacturing of key regulatory starting materials and all production stages for oral solid dose pharmaceuticals, biologics, aesthetics, and devices. Additionally, they offer financial and strategic guidance for third-party negotiations and contracting.

The Senior Financial Analyst, Third Party Manufacturing (TPM), is responsible for financial reporting and analysis of Aseptic Fill and Conjugation products produced by Third Party Manufacturers. This role sets product standard costs, manages annual and periodic financial planning, and reports on variances for External Manufacturing Aseptic Fill and Conjugation products. The Senior Financial Analyst also provides financial expertise on inventory movements and controls and delivers business decision support through financial analysis.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare monthly TPM product and project accruals, reclassifications, and cost allocation journal entries in partnership with Finance Shared Services.
  • Analyze key financial drivers for the Aseptic Fill and Conjugation portfolio affecting U.S. and international actuals.
  • Ensure financial reporting complies with AbbVie policies, Sarbanes-Oxley requirements, and U.S. GAAP.
  • Coordinate and consolidate reporting for Actuals, Plans, Updates, LBE, and LRP cycles.
  • Review and explain product variances, project expenses, and headcount trends across planning cycles.
  • Support the development and application of standards for Aseptic Fill and Conjugation products.
  • Provide financial support and decision-making guidance to functional business partners.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to advance strategic initiatives and business objectives.
  • Participate in annual physical inventory counts at third-party manufacturing sites.
  • Perform monthly inventory reconciliations for AbbVie’s consigned inventory at third-party manufacturers.
  • Support strong internal controls and compliance in all financial and inventory-related activities

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting required
  • Minimum 4 years of relevant experience in Finance or Accounting
  • Proficiency with MS Excel/PowerPoint; experience with BPC, SAP, Power BI, or Workiva is a plus
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills
  • Excellent attention to detail
