The Pitch

Slate’s brand system is the foundation of every piece of content our customers create. The Brand feature — logos, fonts, colours, templates — ensures every post looks on-brand, without the back-and-forth. We need a Senior Frontend Engineer to own this area, extend it, and make it the most powerful brand management experience in social media tools.

What You’ll Actually DoOwn the Brand feature area
  • Build and evolve the brand management experience: brand kits, font management, colour palettes, logo handling, and brand-aware templates

  • Design and build the UI systems that enforce brand consistency across Slate’s editor

  • Work closely with the design team to ship experiences that feel polished and intuitive

Integrate brand into the editor
  • Build the connective tissue between brand assets and the editor so applying brand feels effortless

  • Collaborate with the editor team on shared primitives and APIs

  • Ensure brand features work reliably across canvas sizes, aspect ratios, and export formats

Raise the quality bar
  • Write well-tested, maintainable code in a codebase that’s actively growing

  • Contribute to frontend architecture decisions across the team

  • Mentor junior engineers through code reviews and design discussions

You’d Be a Great Fit IfYou have the experience:
  • 5+ years of frontend engineering experience, with a track record of shipping product

  • Strong React and TypeScript skills

  • Experience building design tooling, creative software, or brand management features is a strong plus

You’ve done work like this before:
  • Built complex, stateful UI features that handle rich data (fonts, colours, assets)

  • Worked closely with designers to implement pixel-perfect, interaction-rich UIs

  • Contributed to or maintained a shared component library or design system

You work the way we work:
  • You take ownership of features end-to-end, from design to production

  • You care about craft — both in the UI you ship and the code you write

  • You use AI tools to move faster and take responsibility for the output

Tech Stack

React, TypeScript, CSS, Canvas API, WebGL

The Details
  • Location: Remote, anywhere from EST (UTC-5) to UTC+2

  • Reporting to: Maciej Kucharek, Head of Engineering

  • Compensation: US $170k–200k | Rest of World $95k–140k USD + equity

Benefits
  • Equity options

  • Unlimited PTO (we actually take it)

  • $200/month wellness stipend

  • Health insurance stipend

  • Home office budget
