Sr Platform Engineer, DevOps 

Job Summary: 

We are seeking a seasoned Senior Platform Engineer to join our growing infrastructure team. You will be responsible for taking ownership of complex cloud infrastructure solutions, leading the design, implementation, and management of our platform built on GCP. You will collaborate closely with developers, operations teams, and security professionals to ensure our platform is robust, future-proof, and meets the ever-evolving needs of the business. 

Responsibilities: 

  • Design, develop and manage our GCP infrastructure, including compute, storage, networking, and containerization services (Kubernetes Engine) 
  • Implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) principles using tools like Terraform to automate infrastructure provisioning and configuration management 
  • Develop and implement comprehensive monitoring and alerting systems using GCP tools to proactively identify and troubleshoot platform issues 
  • Ensure the platform is highly available, scalable, secure, and compliant with industry best practices 
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest GCP offerings and advancements in cloud technologies 
  • Mentor and guide junior engineers, fostering a culture of knowledge sharing and continuous improvement 
  • Optimize the platform's efficiency and performance, ensuring cost-effectiveness 
  • Document infrastructure design, operations procedures, and best practices 

Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience) 
  • 6+ years of experience in DevOps, or a related field, with a minimum of 2 years focused on GCP 
  • Proven experience in designing, building, and maintaining large-scale cloud infrastructure on GCP 
  • In-depth knowledge of GCP services including Compute Engine, Cloud Storage, Cloud Networking, Kubernetes Engine, Cloud Monitoring, and IAM 
  • Proficiency with scripting languages like Bash, Python, or Go 
  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform 
  • Experience with container orchestration technologies (Docker, Kubernetes) a plus 
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD) a plus 
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills 
  • Strong leadership, communication, and collaboration skills 
  • Experience with disaster recovery and business continuity planning on GCP 
  • Experience with infrastructure security best practices and security automation on GCP 
  • Bonus: Certifications in GCP technologies (e.g., GCP Certified Professional Cloud Architect) 

Compensation, Benefits and Duration

Minimum Compensation: USD 48,000
Maximum Compensation: USD 168,000
Compensation is based on actual experience and qualifications of the candidate. The above is a reasonable and a good faith estimate for the role.
Medical, vision, and dental benefits, 401k retirement plan, variable pay/incentives, paid time off, and paid holidays are available for full time employees.
This position is not available for independent contractors
